Righto, just got an email from Clove to say mine has been dispatched via FEDEX, so chances are knowing FEDEX I will see it here on Friday.

My credit card was deducted overnight and theres a note on the Clove website about orders on or before the 8th being processed. Just need to wait for my tracking number now!!

I'm in Aussie at the mo. Been hunting around. Some 'Mobile made Simple' stores getting HTC Desire in today - they wouldn't tell me how much. Going 2have look 2morrow again cos going Australian Zoo 2day. Hopefully will b bringing home my desire

Are there any reasonable alternatives to Clove right now? I'm thinking I'll hold off for a few hours at least before ordering later today...

Really wish I had bit the bullet and ordered before their announced shipping delay >.<

Nexus One can be rooted, customized nicely. Desire seems to be the smoother running phone, but as yet hasn't been rooted...

Actually the Desire has been Rooted, only that didn't grant full write access, so more work is being done. It'll happen before too long, apparently the two main Android hackers are both packing the Desire these days, so I'd expect news on this front relatively soon.
