FWIW, mine was ordered from Clove on the 12th April, in the middle of a no stock period, and it was eventually despatched on the 18th.  When placed the order I accidently selected the Airsure (Royal Mail) option and now, according to the Royal Mail website, it is "On its Way".  Where it is, I have no idea.  I suspect under a mountain of other boxes in an airport in the UK somewhere.

Oh well...

Fedex has called, I've just paid the GST / import duty over the phone. The phone is still in London according to tracking and estimated arrival is Monday... hope they get through the backlog this weekend so I do get it Monday! Along with everyone else still waiting of course :-)

shreyas: Anyone looking to buy it in NZ can now get it from Expert Infotech, North Shore, Auckland for $979.

http://www.einfo.co.nz/shop/product_info.php?products_id=18309

Although mind you, Expert Infotech have a terrible reputation for after-sales support.

Just for the record, I asked Expert Infotech if the HTC Desire they're selling comes with a microSD card (because it is not mentioned on the product page) and they replied saying it doesn't.  So factor that into any cost comparisons.

Despite that, it is a pretty competitive price.

My experience with Expert Infotech has been mixed, in that I had to chase them up to find that the product was out of stock after I'd bought it, but they refunded my money immediately when I asked them to.

My singular experience with them has been bad. They sent me a Portuguese phone, then took some convincing to take the phone back. They did refund the money, but not all of it. I was promised by two different people on the phone they will refund the cost of sending it back, yet I never saw that part of the cost. Personally I would never deal with them again...

HTC's sync software comes on the microSD card doesn't it?? As far as I know you'll need it to connect to your PC, so you may need to track down a download on the web somewhere??
