insane: Sorry I've skipped over the last 20 or so pages, has anyone had to get their desires services by clove, and if so what was the experience like?

I'm a little reluctant to purchase from a company where I cannot walk into their store if things turn nasty.

Clove are fantastic to deal with. If you are worried about getting one from overseas then Vodafone will be selling them for $999 very soon.

I didn't have any problems with my Desire from Clove. They answered the questions I had (via email) quickly (Given the time zone difference)
They even charged my credit card for the goods while the exchange rate was good (after I asked them too)
I used the Royal Mail postage option and didn't have to pay GST on it, even though it was clearly marked with the value, etc.

OIr you could buy the phone from Vodafone, might end up being ~$100-200 more from VF, but if it breaks, you have problems with it etc it'll be easier to deal with.

I think it was "beginning Q3" not "of" which means it could be a while away.

Hi, what has generally been the shipping time to receive HTC Desires from Clove?  Has there been a considerable difference with tracked mail vs DHL?

A mate of mine ordered an HD2 via RoyalMail, it took him 3 days to receive it! And they didn't even charge him any GST! I ordered my Desire on the 26th of June (Saturday), it left the UK on the 29th and is not in my hands yet (via DHL). Web tracking says it's in Christchurch, so maybe I'll get my hands on it today. Makes me regret choosing DHL! Sigh :/

Does anyone know if DHL Express have a delivery time-frame guarantee?

I got the Desire because it had just been released when I was in the market for a new phone.

Not sure if I would have bought the Galaxy S if i hadn't gotten the Desire already, I remember reading about the Galaxy S and thinking that it looked very nice. If the prices were similar and they had come out around the same time, I would have probably gone for the better screen (SAMOLED!) on the Galaxy S. At the moment though, the price difference between the two is significant, and this would have also affected my decision.

I don't regret buying the Desire, it's pretty fantastic, and I can't wait for FroYo 2.2

Your GZ profile says "Mary" so I went out on a limb and guessed wildly...
