The upgrade is for unlocked models only afaik. Upgrades for carrier-specific models are at the discretion of the carrier, so may take many more months!

I have heard that debranding will not matter, since they identify the phone with the IMEI number. I am not sure if this is true though.

Okay the upgrade is now complete, took about 15-20 minutes. The phone is much snappier now, not that it wasn't snappy before but I can definitely notice the performance boost :D

Interesting.

Anyone here with a rooted/debranded XT/Telstra A8183 who can get the update?

I just got my update, playing with it now. Many apps don't seem to let you install to SD

Busy installing mine right now, its 90MB so sounds like a decent update.

I'm so green to this whole Android thing, only picked my phone up on Friday, loving it!

Anyone got the itunes syncing going?

The other good thing I've noticed is the sim toolkit logo has finally disappeared from the status bar that was only coming up with my Vodafone 256k sim card.

Heads up folks, you need at least 25Mb of free space on your phone to do the upgrade, mine wouldnt complete until I deleted some of my unused apps (crapps), goodbye vibrator and virtual beer, amongst others.

Well done to those getting it. I have the Telstra version so it sounds like I will be waiting a while.

What's the Bootloader & Software Number for 2.2? I am interested to see if they have tried to slow down the ability for us to root the phone by changing them.

Cheers

Got the update last night after a manual check.

The new manage applications function is nice now. Shows 4 lists - downloaded, running, all, on SD card.

Integration of calendar with FB is nice - it shows your friends birthdays on your calendar but can be turned off easily too

Nice, just installed to my Desire, having a play at Kongregate in the browser :) Browser speed is just excellent...

Like the HTC Dice and Coin widgets too!
