I have been reading that the JPU rom has issues connecting to Kies so best not to risk it unless you are comfortable with using Odin/Heimdall to flash.

FFS, just got my phone back and it's not fixed, forth photo I took came through as an error, again.

On description of work they have carried out they wrote the following: "formated the external micro sd. Reflashed firmware. Tested camera".

I was on JH1, still on JH1 and lost all of my applications, and set up, but the phone is still f*cked. I've had enough of this. :(

Yeah, just rang them, but manager was "busy". Will be on them again. I'm just tired of all this. Christ, even iPhone users who have issues with their phones have them replaced straight away, if under warranty. This is just ridiculous. :|

semigeek: Upgraded to Froyo yesterday, but looking through the network settings, I have tethering via USB, but no WIFI hotspot, can someone confirm if their SGS is also missing it. On a stock phone.

Mine has Mobile AP on the new 2.2.1 JPU firmware, also had it on JPK.

So, sage forum participants, I am in desperate need of counsel. I have the Voodoo lagfix applied to my tasty new ROM-O- Goodness™, Froyo 2.2.1. I suspect that it's in some way the author of my WiFi miseries, as I don't remember any WiFi issues prior to applying said lagfix. So my admittedly slight understanding of such things has me believing that I will need to remove Voodoo. But the app doesn't have a 'remove' function that I can find. Will my uninstalling the app also remove the lagfix? Or not?

I ask because my googling thus far has not provided me with the expected cornucopia of resolutions to my conundrum.

It will of course teach me a lesson for being greedy and expecting to improve on what was, when I installed it, the silkiest smartphone OS known to man or beast. Fool that I am.

Net wisdom dictates that I remove any lagfix before re-flashing ROMs or their components. So anybody who can shed some light on this, your help will be heartily welcomed, and your karma quotient as always will go through the roof.

Usually to remove Voodoo you create a folder call 'disable lagfix' in the Voodoo directory and reboot the phone (and then you'll hear the robot announcer again detailing the reversal of the Ext 4 formatting).

If you used a Voodoo application (sorry, haven't come across that one yet) then I'm not sure.

I'll give that a shot thanks, NZTF. Can't hurt. I figure the app does what the CWM approach does, just uses a ramdisk or whatever via the app instead of the ROM.

Let you know how it travels.

Right, my GPS tracks for the cycle to and from work were good - the one on the way there was just OK, but the one on the way back with a nice clear sky was perfect - even though the phone was in a pocket in my backpack!

oh that sucks, lazy ahole's not checking ur phone properly. i guess it's slightly harder because it's an intermittent fault. totally sours your i9000 experience though!! I would push for immediate brand new replacement or $$$ back. good luck. I guess you can have some comfort in that you didn't purchase the dud phone from overseas, in which case you would be paying for return postage as well as a longer wait.

Hey Guys got a prob. upgraded 2 JPA got 3e recovery and can't install unsigned zip files. Can't even get into clockwork. I managed to root the phone using Ryanza's Z4root app. so that's cool but can't run voodoo lag fix or apply CWM update.zip :( checked xda 4 help but didn't find anything useful.

Hi guys,

Bought a Galaxy S on XT a few weeks ago and have been wanting to flash it for a while. Have read numerous tutorials on it and am comfortable enough with the actual flashing process, what I'm not comfortable with though is what to flash.

So from the stock Eclair firmware on XT what should I be flashing to? Not overly concerned with going to 2.2.1, but I'd like to move to Froyo.

Also of note, I've tried all the registry hacks and everything for Kies without success, so I'd prefer to use Odin to do the flashing - this is my main problem as I need a copy of the firmware.

So has anyone managed to get the Froyo firmware for XT? Or alternatively recommend one I should go to.
