nzgman: Running doc's build 9.9 and I'm getting that bug where sometimes all the sound starts going to the small front speaker instead of the speaker on the back. does anyone know how to fix this from happening? apart from this and asphalt 5 disappearing after re-boots 9.9 seems fine and quick.

I had that on 9.8.1, I had to do a reboot when recalibrating the battery and found that it wasn't doing it anymore; but I suppose you've already tried a reboot.

Battery and speed so far seem incomparable to all other rom's I have used, no lagfix whatsoever.

Yeah that makes sense - I don't ever have a lot of apps installed (around 65), so it probably doesn't have the same impact.

EXT4 is supposedly more battery-efficient than RFS too, but I've never found much difference.

Just read on XDA before that Doc is saying ZSJPG has a few bugs - will take another look next week.

Have you done any tests without any lag fix? I still haven't lag fixed, haven't in probably 3 months and I find the phone smooth and responsive.

No tests that you could hang your lab coat on, no - I ran my current ROM for a few days with everything stock (RFS/no speedmod tweaks etc), and it was liquid-smooth. The only difference with EXT4 is that media scanning seems to be a bit quicker. But even that could be entirely in my head!!

I don't bother with Quadrant anymore as it seems rather pointless.

Any other suggestions on where to get one? e.g. clove, eking

Very keen on getting one but just know that the price is going to drop like a stone when the galaxy 2 is released. can't believe vodafone are still selling them for $999

I know this has all be discussed before but some recent experiences would be good.

I don't use Quadrant either. My test now is Sunspider 0.91 web benchmark and I get pretty awful scores no matter what rom. Why is Samsung so bad at making a fast browser :(

I use EXT4 as that's pretty much what google have recommended from Gingerbread onwards (it's what the Nexus S uses) so it must be fairly fast, safe and battery efficient. I haven't noticed any extra bugs present in ZSJPG apart from the usual gallery sensor bug (that you fix using SGS Tools to replace it) and the 50% no signal bug that I resolved by using tasker to enable/disable airplane mode after boot.

Interesting you say this as I just moved to ext4 for a trial, I can't see a heck of a difference; maybe some apps opening faster. Do you guys convert SYSTEM to ext4 aswell or just data?

Interesting you say this as I just moved to ext4 for a trial, I can't see a heck of a difference; maybe some apps opening faster. Do you guys convert SYSTEM to ext4 aswell or just data?

I convert everything including system and use the fast mount options.

Rebooting is a temporary fix, it eventually will happen again, was after a permanent fix if anyone knows of one.

I am currently running Doc 9.9 ZSJPG with JPY modem and VFNZ CSC, bought the phone in NZ (VFNZ sourced), currently on 2 Degrees.

Getting really slow GPS lock on. I have tried using Fastfix and setting it to Oceania region, even went into GPS test menu cleared the GPS data and updated the GPS data, still takes a long time to get a GPS lock on. On using GPS Test http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-chartcross-gpstest-zjAp.aspx, I generally can see up to 4 satellites but the lock on takes a long time.

Anyone else have had a similar GPS issue on the latest Doc9.9 ROM. I was getting faster GPS lock on Darky 9.3..

I am thinking of flashing BUJP5 modem, just wondering if anyone here has tried BUJP5 modem.

Was on FirstIn this morning at $549 (http://www.firstin.co.nz/products/samsung-galaxy-s-t959-4716/) - but must have sold out within milli-seconds of being listed - I went to the site just a minute or 2 after receiving the email with the deal and they were all gone!

Did anyone here manage to get one from them?
