sittingduckz: Darkys have the stock 2.3.4 available now & Darkcore 2.7.1.

All I can say is Holy S!#t it is fast. There forum is full of people saying the same thing.

They are currently working on there custom rom.

This is the best my phone has ever been!!

Found any issues so far? Spent most of yesterday trying out different ginger roms (since the ROM kitchen is alive again with JV9 and JV5) and playing with Odin so might wait a little while before running it again! But ended up back on darky's 10.1 and dark core.

It wouldn't be surprising if 2.3.4 fixed the rogue Android OS process bug as that was reported as being resolved on the Nexus S with the 2.3.4

I am waiting until there are stable custom roms with themes etc before flashing.

It might actually be worth you flashing the stock one as it sounds like it has resolved a lot of the issues apparent in 2.3.3

That's a fine suggestion lokhor.

I'll do a little online research and spend the rest of the weekend sorting it out. Or I could be lucky.  :D

And a link to the stock firmware? As in Samfirmware? Or is it an XDA only type of dealio? Don't have time to check right now but any shortcuts welcomed. :-)

Cheers,

Just scoped out Samfirmware who trumpet it in their news page, but the i9000 FW page doesn't have it. Unusual since they are pretty prompt at posting.

Nevertheless, your link will do the biz I'm sure.

Thanks for your help dude.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Just downloaded it. Doing backup and stuff as I write.

Exciting, somewhat anxiety-inducing stuff, huh?

Roll on Saturday morning!

Should have it done by lunchtime (I hope) so I'll update. Just switching back to TW and syncing data with Google.

Noticed this this version requires wiping the partition and the install will be a start-from-scratch one, so backup is a must. Say goodbye to email data and SMS data to name a few. But it will hopefully be worth it. :D

Make sure your /efs folder is also backed up. And there's no lag fix running.

Best of luck on your upgrade.

Cheers,

HI guys,

I'm using 2.2.1 atm. Downgraded from a 2.3.3 because of the android os process bug that drains off my battery. Has anyone of you flashed 2.3.4 yet? If so, is the android os process bug still exisiting in the rom?

Thanks,

Ken
