Again, you are missing things. I asked what version of Odin you are using. These details matter.

Have you tried right clicking the Odin exe and running as administrator?

I have tried Odin v1.3 and Odin v1.7.

However I have not run as Admin....I'll give that a go.

downloading v1.82 now. Might have a faulty USB port. I have not had much luck in the past with mass storage mode either.

However I did root the phone using SuperOneClick.

v1.83 doesn't connect either. Must be a hardware fault.

Are you opening and configuring Odin, putting the phone into download mode and then connnecting the phone to the PC in that order?

Yes, except I am not configuring Odin, but other than that...yes.

No Kies or any other software in the tray....killed most other stuff as well.

On the youtube video...the guy just plugs the phone in, then he gets a yellow box with a com port number.

No me. I have tried leaving it for 20 mins....no cigar.

Hmm, well thats a bummer. I dislike Odin for many reasons and thats just one more to add to the list.

Can't log back into my google account now....to access the market etc. Looks like I'll have to wait and see of the problem sorts it's self out.

Wait a sec... Looking back, you seem to be on 2.1 with a lagfix, so I'm guessing you have CWM already and you have no intention of flashing a gingerbread rom from what I see, so just why are you even bothering with ODIN?

I don't have CWM installed. Lagfix was the OneClickLagFix.

The problem must be Hardware or a Cable fault. I cannot mount as a Mass Storage Device either.

When you plugged it in did it start to install drivers or just not recognise at all? might pay to try a different cable.
