Hey guys, sorry if this is OT (just signed up to Geekzone), but is the Kingston 32GB microSDHC memory card compatible with this phone? I'm looking to buy one online, so yeah, help would be really appreciated.

I'm going to say yes. The Galaxy S supports microSDHC cards up to 32gb

Has anyone noticed that there is an icon next to the phone firmware label at the following page (whereas in the past it always showed a 0)

If you follow the link then you get a page not found, however, if you change "nz" to "au" then you can download software called NPC "New PC Studio". So the url would be ..

I downloaded it and tried it. Just looks like another version of, or alternative to, Kies software. Had the same issues trying to get it to connect...

Kies trouble?

I recently got a Samsung Captivate (AT&T branded) to work with the XT network. Generally love it, especially
the fantastic screen and getting into the world of customisation that's so much harder on an iPhone. Thanks for so many helpful comments in this forum.

I knew there was an update to 2.1 supposedly with GPS improvements etc, but Kies never managed to download and install it. Then I stumbled upon Kies Mini. All it seems to do is to upgrade firmware, but it did that first time for me.

So here it is in case there are any other Captivate owners out their struggling to get their 2.1 update. Hope it works just as well for Froyo.

It looks like JPM may be the official froyo release as the source code has shown up on the Samsung website - http://opensource.samsung.com/.

If you're upgrading from JPK to JPM it's a nice easy upgrade as it doesn't zap all your apps and settings (YMMV, backup anyway!).

Anyone looked at the GPS settings? Seems that with many of us getting them from overseas, there could be benefit in setting some of them to more efficient services or settings that suit us in NZ.

Here are my Captivate settings:

Application Settings:
