I doubt mine would last 20 hours under any circumstances...
I've even taken to leaving 3g turned off to help last a day.

Battery still going...

10 minutes after this was taken the power saver feature kicked in when the battery hit 15%. Given everything this phone has been doing over the past 29+ hours the battery life is really amazing me. I didn't get anything like this battery use with the Desire.

Here's my battery life after the first day, taken off the charger around 8am (approx 13 hours ago). Played about 4 hours of angry birds (addict), 2 hours of streaming music over bluetooth, two ten minute phone calls, fifty or so txt messages, about ten minutes using locations and all while syncing twitter, gmail and facebook over wifi for about 8 hours. I've really put it through its paces.

My nexus one could never survive after all that, I don't see why there are so many complaints about battery life. I find it great.
Rebooted an hour ago to test out the LCD density changer app, should have taken the picture before that.

Also thought I would let you guys know that you have to pay to use the navigation feature in the locations app. The maps are free but voices, traffic, safety cameras and navigation cost extra.
Gaming on the device is also exceptional, I am yet to find game with frame rate drops, nova, sandstorm, nfs shift, hero of sparta  and asphalt all run smooth.

4 hours of Angry Birds and all that?
Ok. Now I'm jealous.
I doubt my Desire could just do the 4 hours of Angry Birds :(

Thanks for all comments Elpie - I am pretty convinced on getting this phone when I go to the UK now! Am I right in saying this will work on 2Degrees (with 3G and all that)?

If you buy it in the UK make sure the store can give you the VAT documentation (Clove & others cannot) and then make sure you get this processed at the airport before leaving the EU. Also, remember that you could end up paying GST & fees when you bring it back into NZ.

I did the sums on this & found it was actually cheaper to get the phone sent here before I leave for Europe next month. Getting a VAT refund isn't guaranteed and the risk of being hit with GST & fees might even be less for a parcel coming through mail than for getting through customs when you get back to NZ.

Just a thought...

To those that ordered the DHD from Clove, I just got an email overnight with an update on their DHD stocks.

 ----------------------
We would like to update you regarding the supply situation on the HTC Desire HD. As with many of the recent HTC launches the demand has been very strong and the supply has been both poor and subject to change in dates.

We therefore wish to try and advise of the current situation as best we can.

We have already had a shipment of machines which has been despatched. A further shipment which was due on the 26th should now be with us the week commencing the 1st November. We expect this to clear all orders up to the end of September and perhaps into early October orders, subject to the volume we receive.

We are then told the next shipment, which should be larger, should arrive on about the 8th November. This should clear a large number of backorders for October - we would estimate to ship orders placed up to approx the 20th October.

Further stock is then due in November but until this is confirmed it is really difficult to predict dates.

We appreciate your patience in this situation which is very difficult and frustrating for all of us. Remember we are very keen to ship your order as soon as we can. We will keep the website updated with regard to shipping dates as best we can and also send further emails to you as the situation changes.

When your Desire HD ships you will receive despatch notification (including your package tracking number) by email. Due to the current situation we are getting a very high number of email enquiries requesting specific delivery dates on individual orders which we cannot confirm. We respectfully ask you not to reply to this email as we are unable to give any further details at the moment.

The Clove Technology Sales Team.

i ordered my one on the 30th of Sept so, based on this, it should be on it's way early next week! :D

I just received the DHD accessories I ordered. They were despatched 3 days ago and were delivered to my door. The phone was only delivered to my letterbox so I'm not sure which driver had it right.

My phones battery life is still holding strong. The more days that go past the more I am in love with this one. Still no sign of that proximity bug either.

Yeah I got that too.

Unfortunately I ordered only 3 days ago. So it looks like I've got a long wait.

Has anyone managed to get vodafone internet working on their desire hd? I've tried manually setting the apn to the specified vodafone apn but it still says it is unable to connect. Sim card worked in other phones so thats not the problem.
Any ideas?
