nzkiwiboy: do you know about google? let me get you started

Install astro file explorer from market
Copy the .apk file to any directory on your memory card
Use astro file explorer to browse to the file and then click on the .apk file and choose to install it
You can now delete the .apk file from your memory card

When you install an app it has a list of permissions, if one of the permission is called "network access" or something like that then it is asking for permission to access the internet.  Also if you see the little edge/3g icon blinking green/red then you know something is using the internet.  You can also install "3g watchdog" to monitor internet mobile data useage.

I've noticed on this and other discussions that people post technical questions on discussion that were originally no technical.

Could you folks please create new discussions for specific problems, instead of going wildly off topic?

If you create new discussions (with a decent subject line, such as "How to [...] on my Vodafone 845" instead of something meaningless like "HELP!") it will be a lot easier for people to find it in future searches and use as reference.

Hi all, I am new here but I have been reading this forum about this phone and on the strength of the positive discussions on the 845 I have purchased one today, this being my first smartphone. It seems to be ok, I am just getting to know it, but I am having a problem connecting to my wifi. The phone recognises and remembers my network but wont connect to it!! Can anyone maybe help me out here, thanks.

Please! I have just wrote above your post... Open a new discussion for technical problems. Every problem is different, and they are all off topic.

By pushing everything into this single discussion you just make it harder for others to find answers later.

I am locking this discussion now.
