How long do you think it will take for the prices to go down a bit?

I reckon around september/october.

They have timed it nicely and the next iphone isnt out until probably around then.
Otherwise its just competition from other android sets and they will struggle to get one over this phone with the samoled plus screen which they wont have...
So samsung will proabably feel no need to lower costs if it selling well etc...

i could be wrong though :)

I was hoping ~August then it'd be a year's upgrade cycle for me >.> My mum wants to buy my SGS but I don't want to pay $1200 so will have to wait a bit.

Didn't notice if this had been reported here before, but pre-orders of the SGS 2 topped 3 million by the end of April and that number doesn't include the USA as their pre-order programme has yet to be announced. Impressive start.

Cheers,

I'm gutted that my Clove sourced SGSII remains at the International Mail Centre while I'm desperately attempting to pay the GST due, but getting through to the right people is virtually impossible. What a nightmare. I have my NZ Tracking number, which is then linked to a "Notice number" and the next step I believe is getting a Customs notice number, (this is the hard part where they don't answer the phone) and then I maybe able to pay the GST etc. How hard can it be? All this drama, then I'll be claiming the GST back in my next GST return.

Had the same issue with my Captivate last year, but once i had the customs number, there's a number to call, you quote that, pay for the amount by CC over the phone and then it's on it's way. The NZ Post tracking continues to function after that between Auckland and the final destination which was 2 days after payment.

Customs actually called me back! They've been impossible to get through to since yesterday morning.

They gave me the customs entry number.  GST was calculated at 2.30am yesterday. I then called 0800 388437 to make the payment with CC and it's now clear for dispatch. Apparently the volumes of mail are huge at present. The customs guy said he'd had quite a few other SGSIIs just before mine. Cost of the GST and import transaction fee combined was $175.62.

I managed to get the GST all paid for just now. Called 0800-478-278, option 1, and spoke to a guy there who informed me that the tracking number (NZ post provided number) had been processed. He then gave me the amount to pay, the entry number and the 0800 number to pay the GST. I then called 0800-388-437, they asked for the entry number and the amount, I then gave my credit card details and paid the amount in full.

Now I just have to wait for payment to be processed and NZ post to be informed so that it can then be released.

Here's hoping for a delivery tomorrow /crosses fingers.

That was the same amount I paid as well. The guy I spoke to asked if I was the person who left a message on their phone (perhaps you) this morning re: payment.

Here's hoping we get them tomorrow Smile

Many people have spoken of ordering from Clove and Mobicity.  I recall when orders were placed for the original SGS people were also ordering from Unlocked Mobiles.  Not this time though, just wondering why, or if there's a deliberate avoidance for a reason.

I got my SGS from there with no problems. However I think so others had issues with orders not being successful due to credit card type checks or something?
