stevenz: Just bit the bullet and ordered mine from Clove. Getting hit with GST, duty etc makes it a fairly expensive prospect, no doubt significantly cheaper than buying locally though.

I got the MHL adapter as well so that should be amusing to play with.

BTW - anyone with an Android device an an always-on PC at home, get "Plex", it's fantastic.

By my rough calculations, it's much of a muchness.  IF you get stung GST and Customs fees then it'll be almost the same price. Don't forget you've got to account for the Bank's "conversion fee" as well.

BUT, Clove (and other UK sellers) provide a 2 year warranty directly back to Samsung and that might be a big difference.  Of course getting the phone back and doing without it is going to be painful.

For all that, I ordered mine from Unlocked Mobile and cross fingers it was either shipped Friday or today.  Either way an email will be sent today (their time) confirming which date it was sent and provide the tracking details.

I understood from Clove's website they didn't yet have the MHL cable.  I requested an email when it came into stock but haven't received an email as yet.

Hmm, bother, I didn't notice the "Stock expected mid-June" bit. Guess I'll be waiting the best part of a month for my phone & goodies then. :(

Got my SGS2 from Ezigadget yesterday, so far I have been pleased with their service.

The phone itself is awesome, I am still getting used to Android though (coming from IOS). Its not as intuative, but its very customisable, testing 3 different keyboards atm (;

Is it still a good idea to order from Clove with the most recent Icelandic volcano eruption, which has already impacted on hundreds of flights ex UK, no doubt will impact on the air freights?

Any thoughts?

Depends where they're based. But it's pretty much guaranteed to delay things at least a little bit as passenger flights would presumably take precedence over freight?

Scotland and Germany are both mostly grounded. It doesn't sound like much out of England is too badly affected at this stage, if they're heading in Iceland's direction then it's up to individual airlines as to what they want to do. I haven't found any word of anything too major beyond slightly longer than normal delays.

A highly reliable source tells me that one of the NZ banks is trialling an NFC system with SIM cards with embedded NFC chips using its staff and a few cafes around Auckland CBD right now.

I'm trying to get onto the trial. :)

Mine left Auckland yesterday just after 6pm. Surely I'll have it in my hot little hand by lunch time. Though there's been no further tracking update. Got to remember to take my SGS charger or an adapter. Pretty excited :D
