stevenz: So according to posts in the owners thread, they're currently only available on a contract, and JB's entire shipment is already presold. Fail. :(
Guess I'll be waiting for a while then.

I'm not too sure about that - JB's were listing them at $1147 handset only. . . .I saw/was told nothing to suggest they wouldn't sell them as a pre-pay?
Wade: I picked one up from JB's New Lynn at lunchtime, they only recieved 3 phones and now only have the one left but have already ordered a further 10pc's.
I bought mine on contract but their advertising had it listed for $1127 (incl $50 JB gift card) on wall. Sticker on box was $1147
Just charging it up, can't wait to have a proper play with it tonight, is a big step up from the Huawei X5!! :D

I think thats only from Jb though but I could be wrong? Ive been watching the Vodafone Forums and people are saying certain VF stores have ( Had at the time) some phones left. Wether or not they are selling outright though not sure.

Is this lack of supply another Vodafail or is Samsung simple unable to source enough for little old NZ due to global demand?
ArtooDetoo:On a different note, looks like Samsung is on the brink of becoming the world's largest smartphone producer, outstripping the prolific Nokia even. You'd have to say they're doing something right.
stevenz:
They've certainly come a long way from the rubbish they used to churn out 10 years ago. I think that was mostly stuff intended for the Korean market (judging by the wierd interfaces) that they figured "hey, that'll sell". They've certainly stepped up their game under the new management!
Oh well, having to wait until after payday isn't necessarily a bad thing, I'll go have a chat to the nice bloke down at JB and see if they can stick my name on one of the next batch.
