Also of interest to people may be that Playtech has a docking station with remote for the A500 and a screen protector kit, i suspect cases will be soon to follow.

hazza87: If you still have time to cancel that order i have a code you can use at Playtech to get it for $699.

Members got a newsletter from them last night with discount codes for their birthday sale.

PM me is you need it.

Thanks for the offer!

I couldn't find a cancel option and it's not a biggie after all is said and done.
Hopefully someone else can use the code ...

I PM'd him for the code and he quite rightly pointed out that the code PTBDAY500 is now actually shown on the main page on the right hand side amongst other codes for other categories.

It takes a straight $50 off either model. Might get the 32GB one for $799. which is the original Harvey Norman price for the 16GB, so that is good right?

I didn't even look down there, everything I focused on was in the top half of the page :(

Way too late now -> Order Sent

They are far too fast, they should take a couple of days, at least, to process order ... dammit!

You could try emailing them, they are pretty reasonable they may well refund you the extra $50 worth a try.

What do folks reckon my chances are of getting JBHiFi to price match playtech at $799 for the 32GB

I see MobiCity have the 32GB at $789 [Includes $20 postage]

I work above a JBHiFi so I wanted to grab one today but I am prepared to walk away and order online if needed...and wait...argh I have waited long enough,

Tried and died!
She looked it up on her price checker thing and said that at $799 it was $100 under cost but asked her manager anyway who said they couldn't match it at that price.  Either that or they thought it was an online store although I did say they had an outlet in Auckland.

I think the $100under cost thing was BS, I can't imagine they are only making $50 dollars on a unit at $949 but there you go, maybe they should buy them from Playtech if they are paying $900 for them.

They only match bricks and mortar shops and if they want to.

OK, so after that I went online to Mobicity and asked their Live support if they held physical stock in NZ and she said they ship direct from their Hong Kong warehouse at 3-5 business days. I said thanks and was about to go and order from Playtech at the extra $10 but noticed the sign off said that as a thanks for using Live support I could take $10 off my next order with a code.

So I bit the bullet and ordered the 32GB A500 for $759 plus $20 delivery. $779 all up. I am happy with that.  Just need to wait now. Undecided Tick, Tick, Tick.

If you buy the NZ version you get  2 year warranty support standard and $100 egift card.

You can use the egift at Dymicks- over 200,000 books or insong, over 2,000,000 songs or split value across both.

Only the NZ version? Ah well, done now.  I will have to rely on the CGA if it craps out after 12 months.
I wasn't expecting extras so not too bothered about the eGift?  Was that for online use only?
