Not sure, but there are blue tooth file transfer apps on the market.

Hi all,

A question about contacts. I have mine set up to sync with my gmail account and all is good. When I go to Contacts then I only see people who I have in my Gmail Contacts list. However when I go to Messaging and then 'Add Recipient' there are heaps of duplicates and people not in my gmail contacts. Where does this come from and how can I trim it down to just who I want to appear there?

Cheers
Tony

Hi Tony

It's possible the other contacts are on the phone, or the SIM.  You can choose which to display under Contacts.  Depends if you're running stock or a customised ROM as to how you access this.

These instructions may not be the same for the ROM you're using, but might help guide anyway.
Press Contacts
Press Menu
Press More (it might show Display Options at this point)
Display Options
Under the "Select contacts to display" you'll see Phone, SIM, Google (for each of your Google accounts if you've set multiple up to synch), Facebook, Twitter - whatever else you've allowed to be included.
Expand each area and then untick the groups of people you don't want included.

Hope that makes sense :)

You're both right (unfortunately) - you can set them in Contacts, but this doesn't have any bearing on what you see in SMS recipients unfortunately; I only use Google contacts in my Contacts list, but all three types come though when I go to contact via the SMS app.

It seems stupid, and likely a bug, but I just find my recipient in the Contacts list, and then swipe right-to-left to SMS them.

You can also join multiple contacts so you only see one listing per name

On another note, picked up a Belkin silicone case yesterday at JB Hifi on Queen St, they have a fairly good selection consisting of 3 or 4 different brands/styles and in various colours, so far the best selection i have found to date

Unplug your phone from the PC first, and then turn on USB Debugging under Settings->Applications->Development.

Then when you plug it back in (assuming all drivers are installed), you get an option in your notification bar to connect.

Are you using the inbuilt file explorer to view the SD card?

Is the music player reading them ok?

Great to hear it worked, meidafix is really quick and it's nice that it tells you how many need fixing.

If your cover art is missing you can download an app called 'cover art downloader' which works really well too.

Probably easier to copy it to the storage card rather than using any syncing tool (i.e. drag and drop with Windows Explorer).
