Your flash is faulty.

Or, your sd card is.

First, try flashing another kernel, and/or try 'fix permissions' in one of the cwm menus.

If that doesn't work, flash a stock rom (not a 2.3.5 one as they did something to the bootloader). Get it from samfirmware.com. That'll hopefully fix the mass storage problem. Then, re-root as per my guide, and try another custom rom.

Have just got my SG II last week. Owned the HTC Magic previously and found the LED notification handy when messages/emails received or calls missed etc. The SG II doesn't have this feature.

I found an app in the marketplace that would emulate this, but it require a modified kernel for it to operate. Have found the step by step guide to downlaod and install the appropriate kernel, but what I need to find out is if the phones warranty is void if I installed a different kernel. Hopefully somebody here is able to answer this for me.

Thanks

H

Yup, you're onto it - kernels that support BLN (BackLightNotification) will invariably Root your handset, which invalidates the warranty.

The standard approach is to find & download the stock firmware that you currently have incase you ever need to rollback for warranty purposes.

Look for noLED in the market to do message notifications for you. No need to root.

When I try to load KH3 from Clockworkmod recovery, I get signature verification failed? Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

I've had that issue alot, I just toggle "signature verification" before you choose the zip file and it works. Not sure what affect this has in the future but I've had no issues.

Parallelimported.co.nz is selling the Salaxy S II (16gb) for $888. Did anyone buy their S II from them? Was it legit (ie. not some rooted 3rd part ROM) ?

I was referring to the post above mine about phones coming already rooted and with 3rd party roms, I've never heard of this before but haven't read this entire thread.

Didn't realize my post was so foreign.

Looks like noLED is quite the battery hog? Apart from that, it looks great! Anyone had experience with it?
