KevinL: I wonder how long it will be before the VNZ update will be available via OTA/Kies.  I'm severely tempted to just flash the XEO firmware, but I still haven't quite wrapped my head around the implications of changing the CSC...

Johnr (our friendly vodafone insider) said he was getting a 217mb update via OTA (two pages back). Nothing since then though. Vodafone were working on their ICS update so I imagine that must be it.

haakuturi: I really can't wait for a pure-Android ICS ROM to come out. I love stock-standard Android.

You waiting for a Samsung pure ICS rom? Won't happen. The custom roms will always cover that area and even with the recent firmware leaks, there's some excellent roms out there. Even if there was no official ICS for the S2, I'd have been happy updating Resurrection Remix for my ICS experience.

- Telstra HTC Touch Pro2 - Energy ROM WM6.5.5 20 Oct/Cyanogen Mod Froyo 2.2 - R.I.P
- AT&T Galaxy S Captivate 16GB on XT (now with brother)
- Samsung Galaxy S2 on XT- Runs ICS 4.0.3 Resurrection Remix 9.2
- Business Hours - Work In The Electricity Industry, After Hours - DJ/Turntablist - Will Scratch Vinyl For Free'
- What's next??? S3?

Pretty sure John got his SGS2 before the VNZ release - from memory it's an XEU CSC, which would be why he's got the OTA.

We've all been lurking in this thread so long I can't even remember! I guess all the poor sods on stock phones will have to contend with us discussing the new official ice creamy goodness for a while longer then. ;)

Interesting 217 megs OTA vs the Poland firmware which is 390. Where's the difference from? Thought they would have been identical in size

Damager - I meant a stock-standard Android 4 ROM, not one from Samsung. I just haven't really been looking yet, my first step was to get CWM installed (which went really bad) and then start looking.

In other news - flashing the XEO ROM now!

It seems to have the same problem I was having with the custom ROM's. After an indeterminate length of time all my widgets will hang. The only way to get them working again is to reset the RAM or restart the phone (in effect, doing the same as resetting the RAM).

I'll wait a week or two to see what it's like as a daily but at this rate I might just keep trying the custom ROM's as they'll be getting revised with the new release.

Vodafone does. But Telecom definitely doesn't.
