I had issues with Wifi dropping out and poor signal, I don't have it anymore so I assume a firmware update fixed it

Just switched from iPhone to Android so excuse the freshness.

Is the Sandisk 32gb microsdhc Class 4 a good option?

Also, I got the phone in NZ with the VNZ CSC. Is there any downside to flashing the KE7 firmware with XEU CSC and doing the *#272*IEMI#, reset to factory to change from the VNZ CSC to XEU? Will I be able to update via Kies or will I have to rely on Odin?

jpanwala: One feature or rather the lack of it, which puts me off on this phone is when you go to the gallery and want to email multiple pictures taken from your camera or even upload it say using picassa, the phone does not automatically resize images unlike the iphone which optimizes images to be sent over email. Tried PicSay from market, it does one image at a time, I need around 20+ to be done and I am getting nowhere with it, There is not even a "select multiple items" thing in file manager. While there is on gallery, it limits the vast selections for sharing to only 1 item. Any suggestions?

Image Shrink will do the resizing via the "share" or "send-to" functions, and QuickPic is a superior gallery application.

Just a thought, did you attempt to see what was causing your battery drain problems before changing roms? I'm a heavy user, currently on lite'ning v1.4, and have had no problems at all.

Yup, but I wonder if this will make the phone heavier, bigger and ugly. I really don't like the extra notch on top left

Im sure it must. would give it some protection on the back?
Im finding the power consumption way worse than the Iphone 4. Try turning off wifi and GPS off when not at home say when im at work.

I'm currently on 22 hours use with 33% battery left. That's with about 20mins of phone call and a fair bit of tinkering. I've disabled all of the Samsung social-media apps which are known to be battery eaters though. They strike me as fairly useless, so no loss there.

Hopefully 2.3.4 won't be far off which is supposed to fix most of the battery issues. Not holding my breath though :)

I use "Titanium Backup" and then "Freeze" the applications rather than uninstalling them. Marvellously useful application. It does need root access though to be of much use.
