defnz: I know the CWM kernel flash works as I did it for KF4, after rooting, then flashing the stock XEU KF4 kernel to get rid of the yellow triangle

I might just use Odin to flash the whole rom, got titanium backup pro anyway :D

So per nzgeek's post the process is:
1. Flash 2.3.4 rom with Odin
2. CF-root kernel with Odin, presumably any kernel version?
3. Use CWM to flash the 2.3.4 kernel?

Is that correct?

1. - yes
2. - yes, I used the KE7 - the kernel that matched my original stock firmware
3. - Can't say, I used Odin not sure why you wouldn't use Odin again like you do in step 2.

Bteam:
ancalag0n:
Spong: Did you email the actually seller, StreetBitz to register your delivery address as per the voucher?

I did and asked for confirmation for the 32G MicroSD card and a 64GB flash drive I bought separately, and they acknowledged the flash drive only. I emailed again and received an acknowledgment  eventually for the MicroSD with the standard "We will supply in the time listed on your voucher, and email you before dispatch".

Haven't heard anything yet, so hopefully not far away.
I got exactly the same response from StreetBitz that you did Spong. I'm going to wait the 14 business days (max), next Thursday I think, before I ask them again.

From an email this morning "Item will be shipped by early or mid next week, we will email you once its sent."
I wouldn't use Grab-a-Deal again.

have'nt received mine either... hmm

nzgeek: WARNING! The new ROM appears to wipe all of your data, so unless you've got a backup you'll need to start from scratch.

More annoyingly, you don't get a chance to set up WiFi before the phone setup process attempts to restore your settings from your Google account. It wants to do it over 3G. And the Kies backup I did before the update is refusing to restore some items.

So beware - you may have some... fun... installing this ROM.

Same here, the 2.3.4 ROM left me with a blank android (no apps, reset all settings). Folders on SDCARD were kept though, so I didnt lose any pictures, music or manually downloaded apps.

What sucks though is that all my downloaded apps dont appear in the market under My Apps, so now I have to find my awesome widgets again (and I cant remember the names). The IOS solution is better, there I can download all my apps at once after a reset.

So far the stock ROM is doing good, some minor changes to the gui (more green) and I didnt had any wifi issues yet (wifi goes to sleep and only wakes up again after disbling) so hopefully the wipe was worth it.

[Edit] Just returned to my phone after writing this and the Wifi issue is still there :/

Damn. I was really hoping KG1 would fix that issue. It's quite annoying...

The wipe problem is why I went for the DarkyROM2 version. Seems fine so far here, main problem was having so little to complain about in the first place.

3. - Flash back the original kernel (and only the kernel) using either Odin or CWM. Because the SuperUser/CWM apps are already installed, you will keep root, but be using the new kernel.

The only advantage to using Odin to flash is that it'll get rid of the yellow triangle without needing a jig. You can then use the CWM app to flash other kernels, and the triangle won't come back. (Only Odin-flashing a non-stock kernel causes the triangle.)

Everyone seen this?

Modern Combat Sandstorm is #free on Android HD for the next two hours, visit our store via your mobile: http://j.mp/three4free

I already have the game, but curious as to whether the promo is working here in NZ?

hi guys.. just flashed Lite'ning ROM 1.5 looks really good but having a few hiccups..

1. No overscroll glow for me whatsoever! is there something in settings I need to fix?

2. in the messaging app, no skins are available, just default

3. I have the yellow triangle now! Page 2 on xda for the litening ROM says there will be none! as said by litepro

Also, a question : If I just want my stock XWKE7 ROM back, is it just flashing it again via Odin like I did for litening?

In short, help!

Download Home Switcher and then you'll be able to swap your default launched to Launcher Pro.

1. V1.5 has bounce but not overscroll glow.

2. Only just realised this, hadn't tried skinning mine...

3. The page 2 comment refers to V1.0 or V1.1. It's no longer relevant. The triangle only indicates that the phone is using a non-stock kernel.
Your options are:
a. You can live with the triangle, it doesn't affect anything
b. You can use a usb jig to remove it (same as i9000 usb jig - google it). Costs about $13, several of us here have them if you want to borrow one. Handy to have if you like flashing roms.
c. You can flash a stock kernel to remove it. Not really recommended as this removes any kernel tweaks made by the developer. It will work though, and the phone will work fine.

4. Yes.

Edit: LitePro is currently working on V2.0 using the recently released 2.3.4.

I still have android OS using a lot of battery on 2.3.4, wonder if its something to do with rooting with an older kernel or restoring stuff with titanium backup
