Just poking my nose in.  Is it perhaps called Internet?  Some roms call is Browser, others Internet.  So you might be looking in the wrong place through your app drawer.

1 very interesting thing I have noted on my galaxy s2 running Litening 1.5, at my home, I normally would get 4 bars of reception on HSPA / 3G on stock KE7 since I have flashed litening 1.5, it gets 2-3 and here is the interesting part :

When I hold the phone in my hands, the signal drops to 1 or no bars at all and when lying on the bedside, within 15-20 seconds goes upto 4 again. Tried this multiple times, same result.

To confirm this, I even did roughly 10 speed tests using the app, 5 times without holding the phone and 5 when holding it in my hand and alternating between them.

Every time I had it in my hand, it took 237 - 353 ms for a ping and avg 0.04 - 0.14 mbps d/l with the test even failing on 2 occasions. u/l was between 0.02 - 0.47 mbps.

Lying on the bedside (no touching!!), it changed to under 100 ms ping and between 2.91 - 3.52 mbps download. u/l was 0.92 - 1.59, worked on all 5 occasions.

I found this quite weird, in fact I see some other users have reported modem issues on litening 1.5 and I really am not ready to flash v2.0 just for the fact that its not a officially released firmware, anything that can be done to fix this? Never happened on stock!

Running baseband XXKF2 (thats the modem I guess)

My home gets fair reception in terms of 3G, but data speeds have been quite good, have regularly hit 3-5 Mbps speeds on a vodem connection and also 2-3 Mbps from my galaxy s2. This is just not letting me sleep right now!

Any suggestions welcome... :)

Waiting for your findings...

I'm prepared to pursue them under Consumer Guarantees Act http://www.consumer.org.nz/reports/consumer-guarantees-act/the-guarantees if the cards don't match the description. I haven't heard that mine has shipped yet.

I have just flashed my phone to ver 2.0 for 2.3.4 and i have tried the things you have mentioned above. I can confirm that i havent had any such death grip issues. So hard to say if its a firmware problem or not but nothing of that sort on litening 2.0 for 2.3.4.

so after flashing litening 2.0 my social hub is completely borked and keeps closing, anyone got any suggestions for that? I've tried clearing data but that doesn't seem to have an effect.

I'd rather not move from social hub as it supports exchange 2010 where as K9 doesn't

Have just received an email from Streetbitz and they won't be sending out any more of the 32GB MicroSD's as they've received a number of responses from guys here I guess, reporting that they're fake.

They also say that the 64GB flash drives won't be turning up. I guess there was a problem with them also. They've offered a full refund within 2-3 working days.

I guess it was too good to be true......

Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 400 performed here so far. See: www.hillcrest.net.nz

Also been offered a refund and a polite apology. Seems Streebitz were misled too and will return them to their supplier.

+1 on the micro SD cards... arrived this morning, very dodgy packaging - no specifications or branding.  Will be taking up the offer to return.

Bought an A-RAM 32Gb class 4 Micro SD card with adapter from a reputable on-line dealer for $99 including. Ordered this morning, it's already in the phone and appears to work OK. It needed reformatting. After formatting 29.63 Gb.
Now I can get on with adding some music.

Thanks for the group effort in sorting this out.

Anyone here on Cognition ROM 1.12? I'm downloading now, looks the most complete of the current 2.3.4 ROMs with the 1.12 update...

Yeah - just flashed the 1.12 update - very happy with Cognnition's ROM's - never had a problem since flashing 1.08, and DesignGear's support is top-notch.
