Well I'm in the market for a Tab 10.1, but availability does seem to be quite a big problem.

Is VFNZ actually selling the 10.1v? Others appear to be taking orders, but not shipping at the moment.

Edit: Looks like the pre-orders are for the upcoming 10.1.

Nice, just got my Galaxy Tab 7 HDMI dock, as shown already on Youtube it works with the I/O Edition Tab 10.1 - just had me some Mario Kart 64 on my 42inch television using the Datel Retro wireless controller! Sadly can't get two player split screen working, despite WiiRemote Controller IME connecting to multiple WiiMotes...

Ok Noel Leeming has today started selling this in-stores! $1299.  I was surprised how light it was compared to the Acer Iconia. Although the the quality of the casing didn't feel that great - quite plastic-y especially the back cover.

Does anyone know whether it is compatible with the XT network?

UPDATE: OK according to the specs here it should be fine?

The 10.1v is a Vodafone exclusive so why isn't it on there website and are there any plans specially tailored for it or tablet computers?

Interesting that it is $1299. $100 less than the original Galaxy Tab was offered for less than 6 months ago. The same is retailing for about $700 now. Might wait a bit I think.
An article in the latest NZ PCWorld suggested the 10.1 was going to be more expensive than the iPad2 but the pricing appears to be pretty competitive for a 3G capable dual core tablet. The article (in NZPCW) was the first decent one I'd seen about tablets in a tech magazine (rated the SGT 10.1 the highest of the android tablets).

Edit: Corrected typo.

So in light of the June 8th release  (elsewhere) of the new 10.1, what's the verdict on buying that over the 10.1v?

The Noel Leeming 20% off sale is still going but it looks like the Galaxy Tab 10.1v is no longer discounted.

It's been pulled. Looks like the price is back to normal today. Must've been a mistake? But the advertising says 20% off all Samsung. Hmmm...

Now I read that general availability for the new Tab 10.1 will be June 17th, however I haven't found any NZ-based availability information. Perhaps Samsung are taking a leaf out of Apple's marketing book!
