There's also a port of the 2degrees app for vodafone, called Vodafone NZ Widget. It works great.

Also VoucherMob is a handy deals&discounts app, letting you download virtual vouchers, so you can just show the shop you're buying from the downloaded voucher on your phone to get the discount.

To anyone using the new NZ Herald app: How do you think it holds up compared to the Stuff.co.nz app?

The Stuff.co.nz app is great, quick, easy to use, well designed.

I also recommend the Whitcoulls eReader, not as nice as the Amazon Kindle app, but your money is spent locally and a few of the books are cheaper than from Amazon.

Isn't Whitcoulls and Aussie company?

Or were they bought up locally.
I tried but I couldn't be bothered reading ebooks on my phone, but they are pretty good on the tablet as is the Stuff app & New Zealand News Papers. Although I find a lot of the listed papers don't ever have any content or just don't load.

Whitcoulls was bought by the New Zealand family that owns Farmers, Pascoes Jewellers and a number of other local retail chains. And good on 'em for seeing the value in having NZ ownership of some of our most iconic retailers.

Oh good to know. Still won't make the books any cheaper. As much as high street shops are suffering I can't bring myself to pay $30 to $40 for a paperback I can get from The Book Depository or Amazon for $14-$18, 1990's pricing. If only these shops could find a happy middle ground that allowed them to be able to sell for a more reasonable price. Anyway, that's another thread.

Back on topic, Trade Droid is OK for searching but I don't think you can manage your own auctions etc. I would prefer a fully fledged app that let me maintain all aspects of my Trade me account including listing, updating, feedback etc...I guess there is...the Internet Browser.

The free version of trade droid is only for browsing, but the full paid version allows you to manage your own auctions, bid for auctions etc.
