Now I'd be truly happy if someone would sell me the dock/keyboard. I can't understand why Amazon will sell the tablet, but Amazon (the seller) wont allow the dock/keyboard to be shipped to NZ.  Daft.

That is real strange about the keyboard.  2 weeks ago I purchased a Transformer and keyboard from amazon and they had it at my front door 4 days later.  Now they say they can not ship the keyboard to NZ.

Anyway the workaround is to use  http://www.comgateway.com

Open an account with them.  Amazon have keyboards available on the 2nd Aug.  Ship it to comgateway and they will on-ship it.  The cost difference is very little.

Thanks for that information Allan.  It's a cheaper method than another I'd heard of (can't remember it's name).  It would cost (assumes I calculated correctly):
US$46.40 for shipping
US$6.96 for fuel
US$1.32 for insurance - seems cheap
Total US$54.68

So all up to get the k/b here, plus the cost of the k/b (free shipping from Amazon within the US) is US$204.67 which converted to NZD is about $235.00.

Sounds decent to me :)

The keyboard is $245 + shipping from aquire.co.nz. The amazon option hardly seems worth it.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Ahhh, I'd not seen Aquire had it.  I'll go have a look.  Thanks for letting me know.

I can't even log in.  They don't have it in stock yet.  No mention of when they'll have it, or if they're ordering based on demand.  Oh well, I'll keep trying to log in and see if I can get any closer to making an order.

But is it a faulty B5 keyboard dock or the revised B6 dock?

Yes I was trying to determine that too.  There's no details in their product code about which version it is.

Is it written on the outside of the box?

Someone who has one might confirm?

I'm looking at my box now and the serial number starts with B6 (if that's the indicator)?

The serial number is on the bottom of the box the unit comes in. Its also printed on a little sticker on the edge of the dock or tablet.

If you've got a B6O... then thats good news. By all accounts these ones "take" the software fix ASUS pushed out a couple of weeks back. Some B5s seem to as well, unfortunately mine was an early B5 so its off being fixed as we speak (or so I hope).

Still waiting for the 3.2 update to roll out, Taiwan have it but looks like the rest of the world is still waiting :(

But do update, if it doesnt have 3.1 already definitely grab that. I'd also recommend replacing the stock browser with Dolphin HD, the stock browser is a bit laggy for some reason for some people.

Other than that, just sit back and enjoy :)

Is there anywhere to see/use one of these in Christchurch?

I've looked  at the Acer tablet in stores and its OK but not as slick as an iPad, interested in this baby if it can work well + the keyboard dock.

Mine updated last evening ...
feels quite snappier and everything flows a little bit better.

I can still feel some browser keyboard lag, but not as bad as before.
