Hi Guys.

I am wanting to upgrade my SGS to darky's ROM.  I am currently running Stock Gingerbread 2.3.3 JHO.

From what i have read you are supposed to flash Ficeto_JVH_Odin then flash v10.1 over the top.

Isnt JVO better than JVH?

I have read a few walkthroughs and the like but would just like some confirmation from some new zealand users so i am sure i am doing it right.

My galaxy is from clove and i am running it on 2 degrees.

Can someone give me a few links or some advice.

Thanks

Yes, you will have to flash Ficeto JVH base rom via Odin and then flash v10.1 via Clockwork Mod Recovery. From what I have read there isnt much difference between JVO and JVH. I followed the installation example, in the following link:
http://www.darkyrom.com/community/index.php?threads/guide-final-v10-1-official-darkyrom-gingerbread-jvh-noob-friendly.3080/

Link to Darky's Resurrection Edition 10.1 (Odin JVH base rom)
http://www.darkyrom.com/community/index.php?threads/odin-darkys-resurrection-edition-10-1-gt-i9000-only-for-now.3237/

Just disable any lag fix before flashing. I also remove the sim card and the external SD card as a precaution.

No, JVH is the latest Darky Rom.

Another useful site is XDA, the following link lists most of the common custom roms for Froyo and Gingerbread.

I believe JVH is newer than JVO? (I think I read this on Darky's site somewhere)

Samsung's versioning is in incremental letters after a "Series" code, in this case JV. So JVA would've been the first in the series, JVB newer, etc. That's not to say each version is actually released though.

Different markets can have a different series as well, so it pays to check that they're cross compatible, they usually are though unless it's a CDMA versus GSM phone or some Eastern variants.
