The add-ons for USB and HDMI indeed coming very soon.
3.1 update should already be out for the 10.1, I've had it on my I/O Edition for a few weeks now.
Regards 10.1 Vs 10.1v - the 10.1 also has a significantly better screen technology, and a marginally larger battery capacity (probably outperforms the 10.1v more than the capacity would suggest due to its display type).
Gosh, how long do we have to wait for the 10.1 to come out?
What bothers me about the Iconia Tab and the Transformer at the moment is the lack of 3G. I realise the 3G versions are due out later this year though. Once they are out, it's going to be impossible to decide on the model to get!:P
Do you have any lead to how to upgrade my 3.0 to 3.1 or should I wait for the 'official' upgrade? If so which website I should be monitoring for the update?

Cheers.
Is yours a 10.1, or 10.1v? In the 10.1 you go to "About Tablet" in Settings and there is a Software Update option there, the same option is also likely to be present in the 10.1v, so I would check that first. If nothing is showing there then you may be able to do it unofficially - XDA-developers will have posts about how to do that if it is possible.
Just got my 10.1 from America. (A friend bought it back for me)
It's great. No real problems so far. Will start flashing ROMs for it soon. Small amount of keyboard/homescreen lag at times but it's barely noticable unless you are looking for it. Amazing looking screen. Can't get over how crisp and clear it is. I can't stand the uncustomisability (is that a word?) of iOS so the slight short comings with Honeycomb don't affect me in the slightest.
Currently use it to browse the internet when on the couch, reading eBooks (Aldiko) and comics(Droid Comic Viewer). Have FPSe running on it if I need to fix a PS1 (FFIX) urge. Ran Splashtop Remote Desktop on it for a bit last night which was a humbling but ultimately pointless experience. Laptop can stay upstairs and be used productively now and all the mucking around can be done on the Tab. It's perfect for what I want to get out of it so is ideal for me because I don't expect too much from it.
As far as accessories go, I picked up my case (Roocase Ultraslim) in America too. You can pick up screen protectors and other misc items from Trademe though. Got my protector coming in the mail.
If anyone has any questions about it I'll endeavour to answer them.
Only got the Wifi version. Had no need for another 3G device as my Galaxy S has wireless tethering so that is ideal when I need to access the internet on the go.
I did but it didnt really seem to be for me. I had a go with one at jbhifi and the build quality seems flimsy in comparison to the gtab.
This cost me 740 nzd total, I think the asus is 100 usd cheaper but I'm glad I shelled out the extra for the Samsung.
I spoke before about the typing lag not being too bad, it is absolutely horrendous on geekzone. Unfortunate, hopefully 3.2 fixes it.
It seems to hate this whole website, typing and scolling are terrible, clicking on anything other than a link opens an ad. Its like there is a massive flash overlay covering the entire page.
Updated to touchwiz today. Text lag is completely gone. Scrolling lag also gone. Homescreen lag gone. With the galaxy s touchwiz crippled it, for the tab it sets itself free. Its a completely new device. Was a bit of bloatware but i've since removed it.
Doc rambone(galaxy s fame) is currently releasing sped up apps and is going to create a ROM so things are looking great for the tab.
Just downloaded the proper TouchWiz update from Samsung. Certainly a bit different to standard Honeycomb. Music Hub is still not available in NZ. Doubt I'll be using Media Hub much, if at all, since I don't watch a lot of TV. Social Hub will hopefully grow on me, but for now the Facebook web page still seems the better option.
One positive is that Geekzone is indeed lag free, especially when typing this.
