Hi,

The list to download the latest Beta version is posted above: http://www.viber.com/download

Did you mean something else?

I fail to see the issue, most details I have in my phonebook are publically available in one form or another, is the worry viber profiling your contacts or keeping your own details off their records? If the latter then you are screwed the first time one of your contacts installs viber themselves.

Do people freak out everytime they loose their phone for fear the knowledge will get into the wrong hands?

I think the issue was that non Viber users who are in your contact list get spammed with "Get Viber" type of spam

@tdgeek

What you're saying is not accurate.
First, as I cared to elaborate earlier, Viber has one of the most strict privacy policy of ANY major, public internet service. Check it out yourself - go to see Facebook's privacy terms, Google's, even Skype's.

Second - we don't "spam non-Viber users with 'Join Viber' ads".  Who told you that?  Have you tried installing Viber and seen it yourself?
The feature of inviting a friend is completely manual, and according to user's desire (or not).

Lastly - the blog you referred to (Agmon's) has created a talkback with our CEO himself.  He responded there, and all the concerns of users (and the blog author himself) were heard, and changes were made in our privacy policy accordingly.  In other words - we never claimed our privacy policy started perfect, but it has definitely approved as we went along, and now it matches concerns of users worldwide, as we care to listen to our users and make sure they can feel safe using our service.

To conclude, Viber doesn't use information from anyone without their consent. We don't sell information, we don't abuse it and we don't transfer it to third-parties (unless it's need for sending you an activation, for example).

Re-read our policy thoroughly please and refer me to a specific concern you might have.

Thank you,
Viber.

Hi all,

We have been working hard in the past several weeks on a first version of Viber on Blackberry, and we are now excited to give you a first look.
You can find it here: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=225894684118044&set=a.159436647430515.31697.121349544572559&type=1&ref=nf

In addition, I'd like to announce that we are at the very final stages of the closed-group Beta project, and will soon make the Beta version public!

For more info feel free to ask me here and make sure you follow us on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/viber

Thanks,

This is good news. Does that mean the beta will be opened up to more devices?

The beta we will make public very soon is Android's beta version specifically.
Sorry if I was unclear with my announcement.

If we launch a new Beta project with a different device - I'll make sure to let you know of it.
