edit edit: going to wait for CM to hopefully come out.

I have been having problems with Market as well. Not sure if it is a problem with the new market or rom issue. Sometimes my market takes ages to load pages and other times it loads normally. Can you install the app from your pc?

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup&feature=search_result

Found this, it might help;

Q: The market is not installing anything. Gives error.
A: Reboot into recovery and select “clear cache partition”.

cdTDroiD's 3.1 is running fine so far with no obvious problems. The skin is his neon one but the theme is a standard Sense one. No market issues whatsoever.

SpeedTest shows 3G performance on Telecom XT.

The only thing that I have an issue with, so far anyway, is the epilepsy-inducing Honeycomb boot animation. Not a fan of that at all.

Galaxy S has gone to its new owner. HTC Sensation has gone to its new
owner. Galaxy S3 has gone to its new owner. Now using Galaxy Note 3. Skipping Note 4 I think...

I love the boot animation. It reminds me of when I was younger and living in Sydney

My point exactly. :-) Some things are best left in the past...

Are you guys with issues doing proper full wipes before you are installing the ROMs?

lokhor: No problem, hopefully it works for you.

Unfortunately, adding the Vodafone APNs  did not help. I went and parked in a straight line of sight to the antennae, again no more than 80 metres away, no 3G icon appeared, and when I opened the stock browser, I got a  message that said "connect to a mobile network or enable Wifi to use this feature". I tried a reset by removing both battery and SIM, but that didn't help. I also tried turning "Mobile Network Use phone for data connection when Wi-Fi is unavailable" of then on again, but that didn't help either".

Roam settings? (just in case, turn them all on. I'm just guessing here because I'm running vodafone fine. Only get 3g in 3g areas though)

Thanks, I'll try that on my way in to the Vodafone dealership on Monday to see if it helps before seeing if they can. I know I really SHOULD be getting 3G right in the heart of Vodafone's 2100Mhz coverage area here in Hastings.

I always do a full wipe even though I have read it is not necessary. It takes no time to do it so why risk any issues by not doing it.

That' confirms it - it SHOULD work. I'm beginning to wonder if this "prize" was quite such a prize after all.  Not sure what to do if turns out to be hardware-related, since I didn't buy it.
