BadCam:
NZtechfreak: Video up:

I was sold on the Sensation until I saw that. Is it possible that this huge disparity will be fixed on the HTC with an update?

I listened to your responses about my comment above.  So, I ended up getting the Sensation. Zero dollars for the phone, and $6.00 a month less on my existing plan, Telecom cutting my contract short by six months, and triple the minutes, was JUST enough to convince me to get one ;) After all, I won't really be watching videos on this thing, except perhaps when I travel by plane, which isn't often.

I have no regrets with my purchase. So thanks.

I've S-Off'd it and my first Rom is CdTDroiD & Samuel2706's P3D Neon 3.1. It's really good.

I've bought a few accessories. A few cases, of which I've decided this is the best one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270773805865&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

The only this is, is that neither of the two Car Windscreen Mount Holders I brought would allow the phone to fit without removing the case (any case, that matter). I purchased these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280712814121&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270784604499&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I settled on the first one. I was really surprised at just how strong the suction cup was. I can't see the coming off of the window no matter how badly I drive. Of course I couldn't use it until I fixed the case issue. This is what I did.

I took this piece:

http://img6.imagebanana.com/img/ju5ethf7/IMAG0033.jpg and cut it to get this:

http://img6.imagebanana.com/img/a75n680x/IMAG0035.jpg

I was going to glue that to the back of the phone case, when I realised I could actually make better use of another peice that came with the suction car mount, but I couldn't find out what practical use it had. Until now:

http://img6.imagebanana.com/img/in8ipdal/DSCN1458.JPG

This is good because it fits very snuggly on one prong of the four prong mount and sits at a nice angle when it's lying on a flat surface:

http://img6.imagebanana.com/img/2patmn3x/DSCN1460.JPG

This is it fixed to the car mount:

http://img7.imagebanana.com/img/use83mg0/DSCN1451.JPG

http://img7.imagebanana.com/img/s6y3n8hf/DSCN1457.JPG

And best of all I can do this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdUkkk0G0xk

That's using AutoBoy Blackbox. It's excellent and the actual video quality and sound is way better than what I've posted.

What's the best way to get the home screens showing horizontally when the phone is placed in that position?

I'd really like to see the EOD (End of Days) Rom ported to the Sensation.

{Hopefully my links will come through]

I have a question about the Radio. If for instance I was to flash the Insertcoin Rom along with the new Radio, what happens when I then decide to try another Rom again, such as Pyramid3D Neon? Will the Radio need changing?

Likewise, the Amazing Sense theme really appeals to me:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193115

Can I just flash that over Insertcoin, or Pyramid3D Neon?

[EDIT] I've just been re-reading some of this thread and found this:

Privoxy: So.. for the moment its InsertCoin + AmazingSense by Cypis.

So that's great. Now to look for the script Privoxy mentioned earlier that will remove Sense for me...

[/EDIT]

You can downgrade the radio just as easily as updating it. Just flash the version that the ROM recommends,

No sense script http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=993475

Download, flash the ROM you want to use, then before you restart after flashing the ROM, run the script the same way you installed the ROM.

I am enjoying playing with the PyrMID3d v3.1 ROM (as a noob, the load was a bit nerve wracking, but now I feel an old hand), however I just noticed something that was probably not unexpected, but caught me anyhow... the only useful add-on in the standard Telecom ROM had was an "application" that was a simple shortcut to their on-line usage page.. it worked a treat!

Now of course I no longer have that, and I don't know what the url was... can someone fill me in please.. so I can insert it in the browser and get the one-touch check running again?

Cheers

Have you checked your browser bookmarks? The address to manage your usage from your phone is http://m.telecom.co.nz/yourtelecom

If you save the page as a bookmark, you can then add the bookmark to your homescreen giving you back your 1 touch usage tool

Privoxy: The word "Skin" means so much more to me than just the basics which can easily be changed, their is the notification buttons, menu backgrounds, fonts etc.

Right now the fastest and cleanest I have gotten my phone is with the latest...

IncertCoin & No-Sense++1.6

These gets it down to its most basic form which you can then easily start to rebuild just the way you like it, even at a higher level with LuncherPro + Desktop Visualizer you can get a much nicer look/feel.

I gather that this is the appropriate thread for No-Sense++1.6:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=993475

I'll be trying this tonight I hope.

Many thanks - that was exactly what I was looking for.

No I had carefully scrubbed all my settings before loading the first version of the ROM, but now I have saved the URL, so won't loose it again!
Cheers

1. DO A FULL WIPE
2. UPDATE THE RADIO to 10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01 from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178143
3. FLASH THE ROM
IN THIS EXACT ORDER

Taken from the first few lines of the InsertCoin Thread.

Thanks. I did spot that after making my post, but figured it wasn't worth taking up space in a new post to acknowledge it.
I'm looking forward to trying it.

Has anyone with a Telecom phone flashed the new radio?
