Any idea what the cost of these phones will be when in store at Telecom? Even just an approximate would be useful.

the announcement posted earlier said $1098 I think, and then you can get $100 off if you regitsre before 4th July.

Thanks for that kiwiandy - I did browse through the previous posts but must have missed pricing.

kiwiandy: I know that HTC have announced they will remove the lock on the bootloader, but as they have been shipped since then was interested to know if they are still locked.
From what I read elsewhere (XDA) nobody has yet found a safe way to unlock these devices yet?

Another question I have about these Telecom devices... do they install any "bloatware" or are they pure HTC??

Im looking forward to the reports on battery performance :)

Bootloader is locked as the Sensation was shipped before HTC reversed its stance on unlocking. Bootloader will be unlocked though.

As far as I can tell, there are 2 Telecom added apps - Your Telecom which is self explanatory and a Yahoo/Xtra app which I haven't tried yet.

Phone has been up for 13hrs and 30-odd minutes and is at 82% of charge. My use has been light today but both WiFi and data have been on continuously. So it's not looking too shabby so far.

Update
1D:6H:38M at 5% left
That included considerable activity including video recording, still shots, downloading and installing apps, using the radio and the music player, plus a whole heap of txting. So between 7pm and 11 pm, the screen was never off. That's not bad and I expect it to improve when I finish setting it up, and the battery/phone conditioning process evolves.

HTH

Galaxy S has gone to its new owner. HTC Sensation has gone to its new
owner. Galaxy S3 has gone to its new owner. Now using Galaxy Note 3. Skipping Note 4 I think...

That sounds promising!!... HTC Desire HD struggles to last 8 hours without a lot of use.

I'm also keen to hear about battery life. My HTC Desire runs well and generally lasts for the whole day unless heavy web browsing/google maps use (3 - 4 hours).

Thanks to you guys for keeping us all posted on what these phones are like in the real world.

OT but it's not true, when you have USB Debugging activated. It stops the CPU running at 100% all the time. Try it out!

Battery life so far seems pretty good. Thismorning I unplugged around 7:20am and then went on several errands, made a phone call (2-3 mins) and browsed the web a bit...and at 09:20am the battery was on 96%.

My SG-S would have been on 85%. :-)

Ok so after a few mixups with the courier I have now received my HTC Sensation from Telecom NZ.

My first impression was: Man this is svelte looking
My second impression was: This feels great in my hand, it feels high quality and sturdy and not cheap like my SGS

Here are some pics:

Sorry about some being blurry - the SGS is poor for low light photography

Lokhor: Do you tap the screen on the SG-S to make it focus and adjust for the light before you take the photo? Where you tap matters, too. if you tap a dark patch, it will brighten it - and every other thing - up. If you tap a bright patch it will darken everything down. Can have a huge impact on the resulting pic.

I just watched the Telecom's Facebook page Youtube video on the Sensation. It showed a feature called HTC Watch, movies on demand. Bet we don't see that feature down here..

Thanks

Looks like it does. I can play trailers. is it supposed to do anything else?

According to the Youtube video on the Telecom Facebook page it's  movies on demand..
