I think Telecom's interaction has been abs. DISGUSTING !
Every time you ask all you get is "its in testing"  (via the TNZ twitter) for months!

I heard they were having issues with the reception, but not sure how reliable that is, and others have put diff. ROMs on and obviously have not issues.

I purchased the Sensation over the Samsung because I knew that HTC rolled out new android versions res. well.
ok, its not HTC's fault, but I dont understand Telecom's stance of just saying its in testing.

What the HELL do they have to test? turn it on, make a couple of calls, make sure the telecom stuff is there, surf the net, test some apps.  seriously, they are either not putting any effort into it or there is an issue and they expect the people will just give up and put a diff. ROM on if they are that P.O'ed.
But to do that, we would void our warranty.

Seriously, telecom needs to come clean and let people know what the hell is going on.
I wont be buying a branded phone ever again thats for sure !

Hey guys.

Just got my Sensation a few weeks ago loving it so far!

Running ICS 4.0.3 and Sense 3.6 (rooted)

Just standard sensation but has been rooted to run beats.

Just wondering, I am still exploring but have noticed that it has the standard 'music' player (Blue icon) and a second one (the icon is orange headphones) called 'play music'.

Is there any difference? Shall I remove one and leave just one? Is having them both doing any harm to performance or anything?

Also what music player apps do people recommend if neither of these two?

Read many reviews but everyone is so divided!

Cheers,

Luke.

I would say this is something for you to decide on. Most likely you won't see a drop in phone performance and I don't think having the two on there would be a problem. They shouldn't interfere at all. Sound quality wise they would be exactly the same.

Which one is better is for you to decide. One will most likely suit the way you work more than the other. Just test each one out and see how you go.

Well, I have "Almost" decided to put one of the ROMS posted in previous posts, (ARHD I think it is)
I want to fully back up my phone so that if it goes pear-shaped I can restore back to where I was :-)

What is the best tool to do a "Full" image of the phone?
How safe is putting a new ROM on? Being an old hacker from way back, i am away things can go wrong and I dont want a $7-800 brisk :-)

Thanks, Jeremy

Just another question.
Is its possible to test the ROM flashing process using the ADK emulator?
I was thinking if I do it on the emulator a couple of time I can make sure if I do a step wrong I can atleast start again safely :)

I have an imported Sensation, and I wish I could go back and un-install Ice Cream Sandwich!
My phone has turned into something rather frustrating and buggy.  When you press the main power button (to wake the screen up) nothing happens, but if you press it again, the screen flashes on and turns off again.  Do it a few times and it works tho, haha.
And a few of my Apps love to crash and the phone just seems generally laggy/jitters.

I'm not complaining, just sharing my experience  :-)

A co-worker of mine has a Vodafone HTC Sensation. His updated OTA to ICS in April. He has told me about exactly what you are describing.

His view is that I should be happy my Telecom HTC phone hasn't updated. :-)

As it is, I have 'retired' the HTC Sensation for a while. The qHD resolution on its 4.3" screen is just too hard to read sometimes. I VERY much prefer the 800x480 resolution on my LG 3D Max's 4.3" screen.

God bless Telecom's sensation users, if lucky you might get ICS for your TNZ sensation when everyone else using Android 5.0 or 6.0.

So to be a Telecom customer you really should learn how to be patient and have a heart of thanksgiving, it's very helpful for your live, Oh Yeah !

Also that's why Telecom charge you more $ then others.

Just a little heads-up for those who like to keep their Sensation running the latest and greatest - over at XDA Developers, there's a thread that shows some progress has been made with porting Jelly Bean 4.1 onto this device. It's running, although very early in the dev cycle and will only be of interest to those like me who want to follow progress.

At the moment, much doesn't work and the alpha build is nowhere near useful for anything other than developer stuff, and although there's a download link, there's no available source code. Yet.

If you want to keep up to date with JB on Sensation progress, check it out here. Be warned though that the thread is full of bitchiness, jealousy and snark. But if you can ignore that, it's at least a way to monitor how the devs are doing.

Cheers,
R2

Give the screen a couple of seconds to light up following the button press, or at times your second press will coincide with the screen coming on and will turn it off again instantly, appearing like a flash.

I had that happen at times when the phone hadn't been re-booted for a few days, but a battery pull and fresh boot would sort it. I don't experience it now though and haven't a clue what changed to fix it.

Cheers,
R2
