Just updated to Jelly Bean. Seems to be running nicely. The camera is weird when first opening as it is all stretched but it takes the photo fine. Once it has taken one photo the preview returns to normal.

I had one lock up. I was wondering if I left the camera open when locking it. Otherwise good!

How is the Tamcore kernal? Am really looking for a kernal with good battery life. Sebastian on ICS was great for battery life.

Cheers.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

My experience was a marginal improvement in battery with Tamcore. I switched to it for overclocking, as it happens, which should suggest worse battery but happily not. Once the camera bugs are resolved, I'll go to Tamcore, but for bug reporting, I need to stay stock for the immediate future.

Glad you're enjoying the new OS.

k1w33d: Got my Sensation back on Thursday from Telecom after putting it in to get the volume rocker replaced. They also cleared the dust (and a fingerprint) I left behind after performing a screen replacement (Got the digitiser and tools from eBay for $26 delivered). A factory reset was performed but I still had CM9 installed when it was returned. I was almost certain that I would be charged for the repair as the void stickers on the internal screw had been removed and I was running unlocked, s-off and custom firmware but the repairs were all taken care of under the warranty. Sweet. Unfortunately my camera still does not work which was a disappointing consequence of performing the screen replacement myself. I have just installed CMX onto the sensation so now I have a Nexus 7 and Sensation running Jelly Bean. Yesssir

Great! Enjoy the jolly green Jelly Bean goodness dude.

:-)

Cheer,

I am going to hang a bit longer before i do Jelly Bean. I will wait for you guinea pigs to test it..hehehehe Tongue Out
We just updated my wifes Vodafone 851 (android 2.1) to the new just released Telecom R22 (made by ZTE)
Its got ICS on it, and I have to say, all round, its actually a nice phone! I was suprised with its performance. For a $299 phone, I was impressed !
Its still no Sensation, but my wife has gone from a 2.8 screen to a 4'' screen, so she can use her fingers to type texts now and not a stylis :-)

Sorry this isn't to do with JB, but does anybody know where I can get a hold of a replacement back plate for my phone? Can't seem to be able to find anyone in NZ who sells them.

Thanks

Updated yesterday morning and when i was out and running WiFi Hotspot found it reverted to wap.telecom.co.nz as the APN.
While i could add another APN of internet.telecom.co.nz JB does not seem to be able to change to a different APN that is setup. (Anybody)
So i edited the Default APN to internet.telecom.co.nz

The change back to wap.telecom.co.nz was a PITA as i was managing a server that insists on same ip address while logged on to console!!!

Pity the update did not keep the same APN that was there and not revert!!

They have been having problems with the wifi hotspot and probably still haven't fixed it.

WIFI Hotspot is perfect.
Its just i was using it to connect a laptop.

The problem would have been the same with the internal browser. It was just the APN reverted to standard Telecom which does not work on servers needing a fixed IP during the connection session.

Wifi hotspot is not working for me. Have also had a couple of instances where I have needed to perform a battery pull. I will try downloading again but if Wifi hotspot does not work I will have to revert back to CM9 :( as my Nexus 7 has no 3G.

Updated CMX and now WIFI Hotspot turns on and stays on but I am still unable to connect any devices to it. I will have a look through some forums tonight but otherwise I might try out some different ROMs for S's&G

You'll be hard pressed to find one in NZ. I got a white one (switch them over when I want a change) from ebay. About $40-50 NZD if I remember rightly.

I basically got mine to protect the original instead of getting a cover for it but have since put clear film on both of them.

Hmmm.. Same here. I turned it on yesterday and gave a little cheer when it stayed up but never tested it. Stinko.
