Got some advertising stuff in my letter box this morning saying the LG Optimus 3D android phone (4.3" screen, dual-core, fast GPU) is coming soon to Vodafone.

Nothing about it in their web site yet, though.

Is that dual-core? I'd love one but the funds are few and far-between. :(

It's daul core 1ghz as far as I know, the 3D gets mixed reviews in terms of its 3D performance - general consensus seems to be 3D is cool for short periods of time only.

Thanks for that. My problem is when it comes to 3D the "general consensus" is often skewed by people who don't really like 3D anyway in any context.

As a 3D fan, I've grown used to ignoring general opinion and trying things out for myself. I often find that what I really like, there are also people who who really hate it.

I'm gonna give this one a shot myself.

Yeah, I like 3D now too, I was a very harsh critic. But since getting my own 3d TV, I've really enjoyed it.

However in saying that, have you tried a Nintendo 3DS? The 3d effect is nothing like at the movies or on TV at home, it's very subdued, which might be fine for daily browsing on the phone or watching brief videos

What about the HTC Evo 3D? That has more horsepower and is apparently a lot smoother, but with less detailed 3D pictures/video. Although i guess it's not available through a provider here yet, only parallel imported

The Evo and the Optimus 3D both have their two cameras quite close together - about 22mm. Human eyes are 77mm apart. So the 3D effect may be 'gentle'.

I have a Fujifilm Real 3D W3 camera with the lenses 77mm apart...so will be able to make a direct comparison.

I'm just really curious. :-)

Awesome, didn't know you had a 3d camera too, can't wait to see the comparisons :)

Hope you manage to get a full review up in the next few weeks
