I had a p500 for ages and loved it... I have noticed people brick them when installing 2.3 official.
I wouldn't bother with the official 2.3 though, as it is extremely buggy.
Takes 5 minutes to root, recover and put on a custom ROM.

Did you have any issues with dust under the screen. If this is a design flaw with this phone, you can bet your bottom dollar that my daughter will be susceptible to it. She's not renowned for taking good care of her tech. :-)

Actually I did when I took the screen protector off to sell it. It was 7-8 months old though and one of the first ones.
I had heard that LG had solved that problem in later builds

Here's my review of the P500 on telecom - there is also another review of the 2 degrees version on my you tube channel, sorry I don't have a review of the X3.

One thing that I will mention post review about the P500 is that there is no scratch resistant coating on the screen so you'll need a protector to keep it in good condition - I still like the P500 it's a good size and the offline maps are handy.

Glad to hear the positive feedback on the P500 as I was offered one via PM and am going with it. Thanks for all the helpful comments and also the mention of a screen protector being necessary. I would most likely have put one on anyway as I have with all our touch devices but means I will do it sooner rather then later.

Just remember the P500h is the telecom version of the phone - otherwise you'll get the 900mhz version of the phone.

If you know anyone in the UK get them to get you an Orange San Francisco (aka ZTE Blade). Needs rooting etc. but for $200 is staggering value.  I love mine and the screen is amazing.
