Hi I got my Galaxy Note yesterday from Handtec

Unfortunately it didn't come with a screen protector or anything else

Also my Note when writing with the S-Pen does have lag(Is this just me?)

Can someone recommend where I can get some useful/necessary accessories?

Thank You

I haven't read about any lag with the S pen. Try resetting the phone back to factory condition and try again?

If you mean the homescreens don't rotate that is normal for TouchWiz. Try an alternate launcher - Go launcher is free and will do what you want (and a bunch more besides), as will LauncherPro and ADW Launcher.

There is some delay on the Pen, it varies a bit but hasn't particularly bothered me in use.

OK I have bought plenty of accessories for the Note off eBay. Now I just need to order the actual device.

I don't want to order it through Hantec or Clove as paying GST on the purchase once it lands means the price difference is zilch.

Currently, Top 10 has it for $995+delivery, followed by Fair Buy at $1015+delivery.

Not all that confident with Top 10's after sales service. Fair Buy is a new business and who knows where they will be in 12 months time.

Has anyone else seen this at a better price?

@NZtechfreak

yes I'm talking about the home screen, also the screen when you press applications doesn't rotate either

are you sure this is normal? I can't remember exactly but I'm sure it rotated at first before the factory reset

so I downloaded ADWlauncher and everything rotates now but while viewing pdf files with pdfviewer I can't get it to turn off auto rotate...

@heavenlywild

where did you get all the accessories?

I still haven't been able to take the original screen protector off so I'm looking at my screen with a bunch of stickers on top

I just received my Note from Clove yesterday afternoon. It is an awesome phone! So glad I changed my order from Nexus.

Regarding home screen and app screen, on my note it does not rotate at all when tilting the phone on side.

Plenty on eBay. May not be original but it works, and that's the most important thing:)

Homescreens won't on the TouchWiz launcher, but will in others. Rotation should be possible in most apps, not all support it. If you pull down the notification shade there is an auto-rotate toggle there, is it on? If so but apps aren't rotating that should check in settings and see whether the Auto-rotate setting in there matches the toggle setting - I've found sometimes they get 'disconnected' from each other in the Galaxy handsets. If you change them to match it fixes the problem.

It anyone is looking for a very comprehensive and balanced review of the Note mine is finally complete.

You can find the review all in one volume here (be prepared, it's LOOOONG!).

Or, alternately in it's individual parts:

The Galaxy Note "Real-user" Review: Part 1 - Unboxing, Initial impressions, Design/build quality, Screen and Benchmarks

The Galaxy Note "Real-user" Review: Part 2 - Entertainment and media - Music and video playback, gaming, browser

The Galaxy Note "Real-user" Review: Part 3 - GPS and Telephony

The Galaxy Note "Real-user" Review: Part 4 - the "ABCs of smartphone review" - Addendums, bugs, battery, camera, conclusion... and S-Pen!

...and we also have a Root guide replete with video here.

Stay tuned, we have Motorola Razr and Galaxy Nexus reviews in progress currently.

you need to fix those links! they dont work

you can also root note with zergrush technique (that should take less than 2 min with one click)

Strange, will fix the links when I get home.

PRefer CFRoot to zergrush, since you get the benefits of his kernel (his method actually incorporates zergrush, just installs his superior kernel on there).

Woah long review! Can I ask how you did this to your home screen? (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TFLhhymQjD4/TrJ7yE_Xt-I/AAAAAAAABDQ/zDKy56lPWtc/s1600/P1000663a%25281%2529.jpg)

Looks so much better than the default one.

LauncherPro+ (although same look easily achievable with ADW or Go Launchers)

Beautiful widgets with transparent background for the Clock/Weather widget

BattStatt Pro for battery widget

WP7 dock icons, not sure where I got them, but easy to obtain (and I think both ADW and Go have them available via downloadable theme from the Market).

EDIT: Oh, and the live wallpaper is from Ubermusic (music player, comes with an album art live wallpaper where your album arts populate the screen and flip over randomly to reveal other album arts).
