I bought a laptop from them last year, arrived in 4 days, great service.

Plus they sent me a fancy giant, inch thick colour catalog of all their products randomly earlier in the year!

I think B&H is the biggest camera and photography store in the world, based in New York. I've probably spent $10K through them, maybe more.

They have the transformer prime here for US$500. I find UPS the best rapid delivery method. B&H only ship to your registered credit card address, but if you call UPS they'll redirect it to your work address.

If amazon sells something, sometimes their shipping can be cheaper. I just ordered a color calibration kit for my monitor that only cost NZ$25 for shipping that will have it arrive in 8-18 days.

NZtechfreak: What is B&H?

Great store and a must visit for gadet geeks if you ever go to NY city.
The whole store experience is worth the visit, even just to watch the overhead basket system that brings your order up from the basements to the checkout.
Just don't plan on visiting them on a Saturday.

OK, looks like my Prime might not arrive in time to my friend in the US, before she leaves to come back to NZ. If I get it sent straight here instead, am I going to get stuck with customs charging me GST? What has been people's experiences in the past with things like this? I notice on the customs website that there is no specific duty for computers/laptops/tablets.

Joseph.

Yes, you will. You'll get charged GST at 15% plus a fee of around $30.

Mine should ship soon, although it's just the tab without the dock (will get the dock sometime in January)... With any luck have it before the new year!

Electron World has put up listings for the Prime. Not a place I would buy from, but it gives some indication of the pricepoint. $958 for 32GB, $1197 for 64GB, plus shipping (about $50 according to pricespy). No indication if it is with or without the dock.

I did read a couple of weeks ago that in the UK you would only be able to purchase it with the dock only, so it may be dock inclusive. That price was 499 quid for the 32GB + dock which is pretty close given a straight conversion but I doubt it, probably without the dock.

No words can describe how excited I am to be getting my hands on one of these when I can find either a stockist shipping to NZ or an NZ distributor! This may be getting off topic a bit, and apologies for that, but does anyone know of a solar charger compatible with the Transformer Prime? I ask because I do a lot of hiking and tramping and even with the tablet's excellent battery life I'd like a way of recharging it on extended trips into the wilderness and abroad.

*First post so if this question belongs somewhere else please let me know.

There's a really good review of the Transformer Prime here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jeRkVlQV3s
Hope I copied that link properly :)
