You will need a data conection 3g or wifi
Just discovered this by accident
Tune In radio is great for phones that dont have a FM radio
Shazam will listen to the song and locate most songs online  and give you the name of the song and the artist... works for alot of songs from around the world....
You can download both from the android market

I was listening to a streaming  local radio station on my LG optimus 3d (Mai FM) I like the song I was listening too buit there was no information about the song..
So I put the phone speaker on and started up Shazam.... and .... it found the track... and links to you tube and to purchase the song

I have also tested this on my HTC Evo 3d... at it works as well!!

It's really handy if your out and about and like to know who sings the song :-)

Good tip.

A decent steaming radio station will provide this info in their stream ;-)

That's the entire point of Shazam.

Soundhound is another good app that does the same.
