I have one of those cheapish Mercury cases from NL, but am finding it quite slippery in my hand.
Any recommendations for some nice durable cases that have a bit of a grip? Also owners of the Samsung Flip cases, how are you finding it? Does the case have a good feel to it grip wise?

Also if one was to buy one of these, would you still recommend a screen protector or is the screen cover enough. The only reason I would have a screen protector is to protect the phone in my pocket or bag. I have those Xtreme Guard protectors but they look pretty average. Haven't put it on yet though.

Get the cheap screen protector off Ebay and Case is ROCK cover.
Flip cases can be found in JB hifi or Vodafone store.

Ok is there a way to reset the wireless stack on these GS3's? I can't connect to wireless, and if I do, it disconnects almost immediately and reverts back to 3G!

Before you do that, have you proven it's definitely the phone, and not the router?  Do other devices stay connected, and specifically, have you connected your phone to another working router?

Finally caught up on the entire thread. *phew*.

Decided to upgrade my S2 to an S3 saturday week ago, but wasn't happy about the $650 ETR, so ended up speaking to customer service from the store, and they ended up offering me the lower tier since I wanted to resign.. Even better, the rep I spoke to organised to do the upgrade for me on Wednesday while I was out of town, so that the ETR showed up on next month's bill, not the one that was generated on the 20th!

One thing I am quite impressed with was Telecom's system for migrating to a microsim. The phone was waiting for me on the coffee table when I got home.. call the 0800 number, press 1 to confirm, and 15 minutes later (but up to 4 hours) the number was transferred to the microsim that was sent with the S3. Couldn't have been simpler.

Larno: Has anyone been able to make a video call to anyone? I have a blue s3 its my first phone that has a front facing cam therfore video capable, my work mate has an s2 yet both of us get "unable to make video call" were both on telecom which says all you need is a video capable device... * shrug*

Don't really care but wanted to play with it, wouldnt use it normally. I'm wondering if its something on our buisness contract.

I'd never ever made a successful video call till I tried it out between my new S3 and the old S2. Every other time it just failed - but someone recently mentioned to me they got it going by ensuring they were not connected to wifi at the time... not sure if there's anything to that, I know nothing about how video calls are set up/stripped down.

Glengus:
- s voice has worked surprisingly well, once I told it I am a kiwi it started to really show up siri,

... how do you do this? I only see options for English (UK) and English (US).

I have noticed that a couple of weekly recurring tasks in my Exchange account are being reset to an earlier date on every sync from the Samsung SIII.

I have other devices connected to the WAP including another GS3 so I am FAIRLY confident.

I don't want to completely reset the phone if I can help it. Just the Wifi.

Has anyone tried out the little bluetooth keyboards that you can pick up cheaply?  Ones like this: http://www.trademe.co.nz/mobile-phones/accessories/other/auction-488274529.htm

I've just done some experimentation, and found how to remove Telecom's bastardising of the browser.

You need to be rooted obviously, but it's as simple as renaming the directory /system/csc/appresouce. I simply appended ".save".

After a reboot, the browser will have the standard icon, and be named "Internet" as it should be.

I've just noticed on the 2 Degrees version that the internet browser comes with two bookmarks already added: 2 Degrees and Yahoo.  Neither can be deleted.

Not entirely S3 related but what is the best network to stick my S3 on. I went from Voda to 2 Degrees this month but 2 degrees seems so confusing with their 3g data packs and mobile broadband.
Im in Blenheim so what network would give me the best coverage. I use a lot of data not so much texts.

It's a 2 Degrees S3.

I done a speed test and it came back with
Ping 1024ms
D/load - 1160kbps
U/load - 879kbps
