networkn: Good lord man. Warehouse Stationary don't have to worry about plans, billing changes, massive marketing campaigns. To them it's just a product like any other product. To Telco's it's so so so much more complicated.

People need to get a reality check here. It's a phone, not oxygen!

well it is the same phone to every other mobile operator in the world who were pro active to bring out plan and handset cost details soon after the launch and Vodafone overseas was one of them. Dont know how it can be so tough for operators here. Yes I agree there is sometime for the release but giving an idea on the pricing cant be that tough.

Have just got off the phone with Warehouse Stationery at Wellingotn, they said the $949 is only available if you pay before the release date. So might pop in tomorrow and pay for a blue one.

Anyone know if the Flip cases will be released in NZ? Otherwise might have to follow the rest and get one from Clove

Perhaps there are factors that you can't see at play here. Perhaps they are all waiting for someone to make the first move, still at the end of the day the rabid bitching about non release of prices will not make them get here any quicker.

And believe me when I tell you I can barely hold my excitement, I have been waiting on this phone a LONG time, it's just, well we know when it will be released, for those of you who aren't going on contract to get it, it would be surprising if TNZ/VF were going to beat the handset only price.. They aren't usually the cheapest source of a device ever, so I am not sure what you are waiting for.

I must say this thread is getting to be like a similar thread directly before the release of the iDevices! Surely we can do better than that? :)

The Telcos have to be happy with the pricing that retailers like WS release their branded products at. For them their Brand is very much who they are, and they'll protect that with guns blazing.

The Telecom Branded One X thru Warehouse Stationary comes with an XT sim. If that process gets one more customer signed to XT over it's competitors it's a win... Expect their S-III units to be supplied the same way

Yes - same :( But they found the communication from their head office and processed the pre-order. I pre-ordered a white version : )

networkn: You don't need to be so stressed out there mate...we are actually enjoying this release and it is fun to rant and rave about our telco's. It is not without merit that they receive a scolding, even with all of their marketing, billing, campaign plans etc that they have to do.

Typically they're (NZ telco's VF & XT) always way behind the eight ball, and it is totally fine for people to expect better from them. In this case 2Deg are thinking ahead of the game and it is totally fine to laud that behavior as opposed to the other slower ones.

No harm, no foul

Aren't Telecom the cheapest place to buy an iPhone 4S? $1029

Following the rant is just building my anticipation about the phone. Plus its not an insignificant amount of $, so it would be good to finalize the amount I will need to fork out.
I am about to a bunch of marking of R code written by 3rd yr zoology students who (mostly) had never encountered any code before. Now instead of thinking "Why did I agree to doing this" I can motivate myself by thinking "You are earning your new S3" lol

Haha, me too!

I just cancelled and order at Clove UK for a couple of accessories for the One X which valued $144 pounds. So I'm thinking "I'm saving money on the NEW ONE"

Weird
