bignicko: Just received OTA update for my Vodafone supplied handset (with 2degrees SIM) 10 minutes ago. Very quick update. All done now. 4.1.2 i9300XXELLA

XELLA????

I thought Vodafone firmware is I9300XXEMA1 not XELLA.

Yup, just double checked. Was in the process of putting KIES on the work computer to update it through there when the notification came via OTA about an update. Can't remember what KIES said the available update was though. KIES now says up to date with PDA:MA1/PHONE:LLA/CSC:LL1(VNZ)

That I guess is the MA1 and LL1 explained?

Anyone got a 2D one yet? My phone shows as "modified" so I can't do OTA. I just have to download from SamMobile when it shows up there

Good to see the update so early given Samsung only just released it, think it shows its not the telco's but they are easy targets to blame.

The Multi window feature is kinda cool but could do with support for more apps, there is a solution to allow all apps but it requires root and I've not bothered with mine.

There shoul also be a new gallery app in 4.1.2, and some new samsung apps, like a photo effects and drawing one.

To fix the "Modified" status.

1. Have you Reset the counter with Triangle Away yet?
If not you should do it first.

2. Take your MicroSD card out. Reboot your S3 and check your Status again.
You should see it says System Status: Normal.
If not then you may be having some CWM caching somewhere on your internal eMMC.

Done those and you should be sweet.

Anyway, can someone send me the latest Samsung Video Editor? The file I downloaded won't installed on the phone. I think it is from ICS version.

Thanks in advance.

Ahhha!! Vodafone still using the same modem as the rest of XELLA family.

So my phone died, SDS. Took it in to 2 degrees, no worries, they send it away to get repaired. Gf's phone was the same and two days ahead of mine in the process. Funny thing is, got it back this morning, it's been flashed with 4.1.2 Vodafone firmware. Gf's phone comes back as 4.1.1 2 degrees firmware. Can't decide whether it's a big deal or not...

I'm quite surprised that this whole SDS issue hasn't really hit the mainstream media (unless it has and I haven't noticed). Am I correct in assuming that this is going to affect every single 16GB S3 in the world?

Could make for a funny conversation if you need to take it in for warranty work in the future, I suppose the good thing is any future updates will be in line with VF who seem to get them to market first

Only if they are not updated I presume. But I do worry what damage has occurred with mine prior to upgrading, as it has become more laggy and crashes every couple of days. And I have done a full reinstall in the last few weeks too.

Mine has become quite laggy as well and no updates from 2degrees yet

So I'm just rebooting everyday and keep visiting the task manager to clear up the ram so it doesn't get too laggy

Indeed there is, the handset prompted for a Samsung Apps update not long after the 4.1.2 restart. Quite like the new gallery app with the folder display down the side.

Was there always a 'ptoect SD Card' option under developer options in 4.1? only just noticed it, along with a similar app permission.

BTW I'm sure my phone is less laggy now.
