by the looks of it.. "not much" (no new interface changes) but lets hope it gets to speed up the OS.. coz it gets quite laggy sometimes..

I feel adventurous today and root my phone, any advice?
I never done anything like this before so any advice would be awesome. I found Android nz guide and I assume that's best way to go?
I don't plan to install any custom rom but use rooting benefits backing up, control more with Tasker etc.,
One more question, if Samsung releases any updates will I be able to install?
Thanks for the advice

I had to use Samsung Kies to install - the OTA update wasn't happening and guess I'm impatient. Haven't noticed any difference to be completely honest.

Just got updated with 4.1.2 on Telstra/Vodafone. No Samsung Premium for NZ I assume? It certainly "feels" faster after the update.

"Earlier reports have indicated that the GS3 is in for a major refresh this year. It will have better screen, higher battery rating and possibly wireless charging support. The tweaks are meant to keep the bestselling handset a revenue generator for Samsung."

I'm not sure how he draws the conclusion that NZ won't get updated hardware, based on a new firmware that's just been rolled out.

I'm confused.

I agree with you muppet, what it says is that it will release some of the firmware featuyres from S4 but given it hasn't even been released yet its a bit premature saying we won't get it.

If it is indeed an upgrade to EMC2 then thats great as its not that old, I'm on custom EMC3 which is very recent EMC2 is only a couple of weeks old

Its not normal for it to take 90 minutes to charge from 15% battery - 27% is it? I think my battery is on the way out?
