Damager: Nice review..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAs3ZiPQl-U

that review clinched it for me!
was originally wanting white because the blue looked quite purplish.
After seeing the video it seems the blue is quite mild.

might pop down to WHS tomorrow and slap some dough down for a preorder!

Pretty decent video review - videos are always better at selling you stuff tbh

Going to get my hands on one for review before I seriously consider trading in the One X for one

Still not liking TouchWiz (didnt watch whole video) but I guess that's what Apex and such are for

Wow, is that really a dedicated menu key... Thought it was a funny looking multitasking key. I'm so used to the on-screen integrated menu now it's a pain to use my old Android

testing out S voice on my S2 at the mo .... kinda cool, for "take a picture"  "open youtube"  "what is the capital of germany" "send a text message to .."

yadda yadda..

but a lot of things clearly relay on tight integration into the s3's new touchwiz ... like the s voice to unlock, voice command through out phone while not in the app etc ..

still ..not bad. a wee step up from voice command .... would mainly use it to get natural answers for certain questions ...but then again you can do the same thing with google search and google voice dictation

corksta: $1049 with Telecom, or $0 on a 24-month $120 plan!

http://www.telecom.co.nz/mobile/mobile/specialoffers/samsunggalaxysiiipreorderyoursonline

$2880. No thanks. Come back to the real world Telecom.
It's probably not too bad with all the crap you get with contract (minutes, data etc) but still, urgh.

So now that Telecom isn't doing anything special, it'll be interesting to see if Vodafone and 2degrees offer something, even if it's just the same deal as WHS.

Not really sure what you mean about Telecom not doing anything special?

Telecom had $100 off the handset price for HTC one X as a pre order special so it is surprising they haven't done it with S3.

Looks pretty good to me.

Really?!

The competing HTC One X is $999 or $0 for $100 a month for two years, so for a phone that's only an extra $50 more you wind up paying an extra $480 over two years.

Warehouse Stationery are offering a pre-order discount of $100 making it $949, and as mentioned above Telecom offered this same discount for the One X, hence why it'll be interesting to see if Vodafone and 2degrees offer anything different.

Yeah, plus WS are offering the ONe X for $799 on XT, will have to see what 2Deg/Voda pull out of the bag.  I'm thinking Voda won't do much at all, 2Degrees will possibly match Warehouse Stationery

The HTC phone deal includes 300 mins vs the S3 deal which is 400 mins hence the extra $20 a month. Same deal really, yet you're essentially getting a better phone with the S3, other than the screen.

Then, when you look at the real cost of calls etc vs buying out right, the $0 for the phone looks ok or even good.
