Putting it in perspective

Sky OnDemand - Whats new in March in Television

, posted: 1-Mar-2016 17:35

Sky is woeful at keeping its subscribers abreast of new content.  And a poor marketer compared to its free-to-air counterparts.  So every month I'll try to document the additions (and deletions) from its new(ish) ondemand library.

Remember that only Soho subscribers have access to Soho content, Movie subscribers to Movie content. But basic subscribers can get "OnDemand", Zone, Box, Vibe or Prime content as its made available.  Some content that has previously been available to Neon subscribers is now becoming available to Sky subscribers (but its not consistent).

So, Sky continue with the Sky Go offering that seems to have a lot more recent TV shows that would be great to have in the On Demand  service as well. The whole thing seems to have been created by the left hand without talking to the right hand. And without this page on Geekzone, there's no way of finding out what's coming and going without using the pathetic planner On Demand has. Bizarre! You'd think they actually *want* people to use this who have a mySky?? Seems not.

The number of differences between SkyGo and OnDemand are staggering.
And that an episode appears on SkyGo almost immediately after its been aired but not OnDemand until significantly after (post series completion for example) still puzzles me.
These things should be on a common CDN utilising a common platform for update but with the only difference being the interface/delivery.
