OFC316 - Branding and Customizing Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 Sites (Level 300)
Chandima Kulathilake (Provoke) and Mark Orange (Intergen, pictured on the left)
With the release of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007, building and deploying a robust content-centric site has become quick and efficient. And, with each site deployment comes the need to alter the site look and feel. In this session we review components of the user interface and their interworking relationships that ultimately create the rendered page. For the majority of the session, you will learn how to brand a site and customise the user interface through use of master pages, CSS, and page layouts. In addition, we touch on interface customisation of site navigation and branding site administrator screens. By the end of this session, you will see a site that is completely branded and easily stands apart from the out-of-the-box look and feel of SharePoint.
15th August Wednesday 3.45PM to 5.00PM
Mark and Chandima are both Microsoft MVPs and the coordinators for the Wellington SharePoint User Group.
Also, in addition to the shared session OFC418, Mark Orange will be running a session on Document and Records Management in SharePoint, which is a big topic due to the momentum around the Public Records Act (PRA). Mark will be keen to see what the developer community knows or cares about this because it’s a big thing out there for many of their business customers, whether an in-house IT shop or a vendor.

Kognition has worked on a number of significant projects in early stage technology including developing sample code and training material for .NET 3.0.
You will see Chris speaking on a session on Microsoft Office Application development and later on a session on how Intergen is building a new Software + Services application using the Microsoft Platform and in particular the office suite.
Intergen will be announcing a little more about this new application, called ActionThis, during the Tech Ed New Zealand 2007 (and we might have more details on this project during the event).
