Regs:
why dont you swap sport for a season ticket to the rugby instead :D

Paying for rugby tickets? Thats a novel idea! :-)

I went to a lot of the 2011 Blues Super Rugby and Auckland NPC matches, courtesy of tickets won on Twitter and elsewhere.

I refuse to pay for it on principle. This should have been free under the existing channel line up.

We have subscribed - watching Mad Men and The Killing (the latter is brilliant).

I see The Wire is starting soon - an outstanding series but not much good to us on SoHo because we bought all five seasons from JB HiFi and are halfway through S4. It is widely regarded as one of the best tv series ever made. We really struggled understanding the young black Baltimore drug-dealer guys' dialogue/accents until we switched on the subtitles, which was a revelation. Guess you can't do that on SoHo though. The Wire starts sorta slow but if you persevere with it, it's fantastic. Up there with The Sopranos IMO.

I'm paying. As long as got at least one program on i'm highly interested in will keep it on.

Main ones for me is dexter and game of thrones.

Wished they'd stop the crap at bottom of screen during program, I just press i on remote to see what's on next, for goodness sakes.
Sometimes i like watching end cedits, and they munt that as well. Oh well works out cheaper then hiring from video store and programmes available earlier, plus viideo store unlikey to have on blu-ray.

I'm paying too. For me, its an addon to Sky Basic, so no HD.

I missed seeing The Wire and am delighted to be able to watch it from the start. Same with The Sopranos - its so many years since it started and I missed the last couple of seasons so starting from scratch is fun. Boardwalk Empire, Downton Abbey, Treme, Dexter and The Hour make up most of my TV watching from just this one channel.

I think $10 a month is reasonable for this channel, as long as the quality of the programmes remains high. Cutting off the credits and adding that "next up" across the screen really annoys me too. All the channels seem to be doing this and its intrusive and unnecessary IMO.

I found out the whole story now. We got two calls from Sky on Friday. One asking if we would like if free for another month - but the arrangement where they bill us for it, but refund it on the next bill. And you need to cancel before x date or you'll keep being charged for it.

Then the second call confirming the arrangement.

So we've got Soho free for a second month... But can't confirm until I see the credit on January's bill...

No, didn't subscribe. Not enough "interesting" content to justify the cost.

Is Downton Abbey on SoHo?

Yes indeed. The second season of both that and Boardwalk Empire are on. Eventually, they will end up on a free channel.

If you decided to pay for SoHo, check that the channel is active and you can playback anything you record. Sky was notified on 15th November that I wanted to keep the channel. They had this noted in their records & they charged accordingly. Shows recorded, taking space on the drive, but when we went to playback an error message came up.

Sky had not activated the subscription and all recordings after 30 November were unplayable and unrecoverable.

This wasn't a huge biggie for me as I discovered this on 3rd December. It did, however, result in the loss of the first series of The Wire. So, heads up - check that your recordings play back if you have chosen to subscribe to SoHo.

They're only repeats if you've seen them before.  Smile

I've subscribed.  I ditched Rialto Channel since I found I was seldom watching it.

I'm really enjoying "Game of Thrones" and "The Killing".  The latter is top notch.

With respect...I think you will find that it's FTA on Prime, not Soho?
