As the topic suggests, what's the easiest way to access files on a locally connected PC from an E71 (or any similar S60 device I guess) via WiFi. Preferably not requiring internet access. There used to be an app call SymSMB which seems to have vanished once Nokia bought it. Anyone know of an alternative?

There is one called HFS, just place the .exe in the required directory and then share it (security options available too) via a web address. Its freeware.

Thanks for that. Shows promise over the LAN. Need to sort out firewall (Comodo) settings and cross some fingers!
