Can a Vodafone Prepaid Sim Card be reconnected and have a new number assigned if it presently doesn't have a number assigned and is disconnected?

Just on this note what is the deal with old Sim cards? I have about 15 sitting on my desk and would be much easier to use them than get new ones. Mixtures of Vodafone and 2degrees.

Depends on many factors hold old is the SIM card, How long ago the prepay account was deacivated
