I would like to say a big thankyou to Vodafone as my father and stepmother wanted me to set them up on a voip service with 2talk and naked broadband. They are both on account customers with their mobile phones so I thought I would help them take advantage of Vodafones $30 discount on naked broadband. I will say here that they were on Vodafones homeline and broadband. I first did the number port over to 2talk and as soon as that was done I rung Vodafone to start the process of getting naked broadband put on their line. Well the young lady here in NZ after explaining that I had ported the number over to a voip provider put me on hold and when she came back she told me that I would have to cancel the phone with 2talk as the system would not allow for the naked broadband to go ahead or get a serviceman out to see if there was a second line into the house to install the naked broadband onto. I tried telling her that the physical phoneline had not gone to another provider just the number and was starting to get quite confused myself. Anyway to cut the story short after going back and forth from her supervisor a couple of times she finally put the supervisor on who was also trying to say the same as above and when I told her the number was ported to a voip phone provider the penny dropped and she understood that it wasnt the physical phoneline that had gone at all. She told me she would check out why the system was rejecting a naked broadband request and get back to me with a day for the naked broadband to be installed. Well to my surprise just over half an hour later the young lady that I first spoke to rung me back and apologised for the misunderstanding on her part as she didnt understand the concept of voip She then told me it was all done. Naked broadband was installed on the line ready to go. A quick text to my stepmother last night confirmed this. So my stepmother especially is very happy that the changeover went quickly and smoothly. I have got their ported number set up in the SPA2102 and going to Nelson for a holiday on Friday to set it up for them.

Having got through it though, it's refreshing to see people come on here to express good service, not just complain about poor service.

Big +1 for Vodafone. I have just done the same thing with a client that had a number of phone and easy all done.

I had to try and enplane VOIP to telecom as my olds wanted a second line and Oh my god they did not get that VOIP was here and being used..... ended up using 2talk....

Have been back from Nelson for 2 weeks now and stepmother is still pleased as everything is going smoothly and I myself am so impressed with the pricing that I am switching my mobile and naked broadband over to Vodafone to save some dollars as well.
