I know that you can use sidekicks in new zealand on vodafone
but can someone explain to me why you can't use the internet on them
but you can on other mobiles you buy from overseas?

Because the Sidekick, like BlackBerry devices, use a proxy server in the US that is configured to work only with the operators selling the device.
