I have a WP7, dont think it helps. I guess you really have to have a touch screen device to properly get the feel of how this will work. Like anything new it will take a bit of getting used to. The ribbon in Windows Explorer is a good example.

timbosan: downloading the 32 version now - plan on running it off USB to preview it.

How you planning to do that? The same tool linux uses?

Only going around 490-530 KB/s here, should be done in 30mins

You can install all modern Windows OS's to a USB and boot from them as long as the host supports booting from USB.

Seems to like the HP EliteBook with 4gb of ram and SSD HDD just booting up for the first time now. I also had issues with VirtualBox

Running off W8 now, time to go play around with it some more...

First thing; it don't like my wireless card (some netcomm pci thing)
Second thing; Metro UI and traditional desktop CO-EXIST WITH EACH OTHER.

Other: perceived browsing space is bigger due to taskbar appearing down the bottom then and again, requires right click to change tabs, other stuff

Works fine with Parallels on mac, up and running but parallels tools doesn't install and weirdly can't change the resolution on it to widescreen. It only gives me 1400 by 1050 but my MPB is 1400 by 900.

Clicking on the start button on desktop and going back to metro is annoying the hell out of me!

Even the 32bit version of 8?  Does it give errors or is it just a no go?

I've got it working in the latest version of Virtualbox however the mouse intermittently jumps half way across the screen making it essentially useless.
I'm not familiar enough with Virtual box to know if it is a virtual box or windows 8 problem.
